Delhi Polls: Sheila Vs Kejriwal And The Fight For New Delhi

By Kajol Singh | Delhi

With Arvind Kejriwal standing up against Sheila Dikshit in the latter’s bastion, is there cause to worry for the chief minister?

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal’s plan to sweep the political system clean seems to have grabbed Delhi’s attention, as a large number of voters, especially those fed up of the BJP and Congress, believe he is doing some good work and must be given a chance to prove himself. But the New Delhi Assembly Constituency that Kejriwal is contesting for is a tough seat in many ways.

Editorial: Is Arvind Kejriwal Dangerous For Indian Politics?

By M H Ahssan | INNLIVE

Who is more dangerous for India – Arvind Kejriwal or Narendra Modi? This is a question that India needs to answer. But a recent article titled ‘Arvind Kejriwal: The Most Dangerous Man In Indian Politics’ has ventured to supply a one-sided answer to this question. The title is as catchy as it is misleading if not subversive.

The ensuing ‘analysis’ is sadly not borne out by facts but relies on obfuscation and rhetoric. The tragic outcome is that many pertinent facts have been buried beneath the rubble of unsubstantiated allegations and sinister accusations. On the whole the article is an anti-Kejriwal diatribe disguised as an intellectual treatise.

While conferring on Modi the respectable halo of a “firebrand Hindu nationalist”, the writer goes on to indulge in pure speculation and sweeping generalizations about Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.

Can Kejriwal's 'Aam Aadmi Party' Rule Delhi For 5 Years?

By Kajol Singh | INN Live

As Aam Aadmi Party convenor and chief ministerial candidate Arvind Kejriwal is all set to form government in the national capital with the help of external support by Congress, the big question that emerges out of this development is whether or not the AAP will complete the 5-year tenure?

Arvind Kejriwal’s promises to the electorate as of now look untimely as the Lok Sabha elections are just five months away and a model code of conduct could soon be in place. And no government can take any steps to influence voters.

Kejriwal Wants To Be Mahatma, But Ends Up Being Indira

By Sandip Roy | Kolkata

Arvind Kejriwal came to power with a muffler. And he resigned with that muffler wrapped firmly around his head, its presence driving home the point that his government did not even last one season. The question is whether what Kejriwal leaves in his wake is a lot more than muffler jokes.

The new broom was supposed to sweep clean. But in the end the abiding symbol of its 48 days became a muffler. Journalist Sankarshan Thakur told television last night that Kejriwal’s unpredictability has created fascinating political drama because he keeps breaking the rules and keeping the big boys on edge.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal 100 Times Richer Than Manik Sarkar - The Tripura's Poorest Chief Minister In India

By Arvind Kumar | Delhi

Barely a few minutes after Arvind Kejriwal has taken over the mantle of the Chief Minister of Delhi, he may soon find himself enlisted among the former Chief Ministers of Delhi whose worth run in crores. An interesting fact about the Kejriwal couple is that they combined own assets worth Rs. 2.10 crores.

As per information furnished by the AAP chief to the Election Commission, Arvind Kejriwal had declared Rs. 2 crore worth of moveable and immovable assets, including those of his wife, according to an affidavit filed by him. Kejriwal filed his nomination papers from the New Delhi assembly constituency for the Dec 4 elections.

Did Arvind Kejriwal Met Congress Mediator In Delhi Hotel?

By Suhasi Sikand | Delhi

The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader, Nitin Gadkari, alleged that an industrialist had brokered a deal between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress in a post hotel in Delhi to cease chances of BJP coming to power in Delhi.

The Chief Minister of Delhi and AAP leader, Arvind Kejriwal, refused these allegations and asked him to provide evidence.

In a press conference, Kejriwal said, ‘‘This is all rubbish. It is sad to note that a senior leader like Gadkari is talking nonsense. If he is making claims, then he should also give evidence.’’

Gadkari had made these allegations in at the Abhinandan Samaroh in the Talkatora Stadium adding that the government in Delhi is not of the AAP but it belongs to the Congress.

Gadkari’s made his statements hours after Kejriwal was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Delhi at the historic Ramlila Maidan on December 28.

In a literal indication of its party symbol, the AAP has swept the Delhi Assembly elections winning an astonishing 67 out of 70 seats. Arvind Kejriwal will be sworn in as the Chief Minister on the 14th of February.

The BJP has failed to win the minimum amount of seats required to claim the Leader of the Opposition post after winning just 3 seats.

Should Kejriwal Expel 'Bharti' For AAP’s Lok Sabha Desire?

By Likha Veer | INN Live

ANALYSIS Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal must understand that the so-called “victory” of Delhiites was a face-saving deal for him ahead of Indian Republic Day.

Kejriwal must understand that Somnath Bharti's recent actions were completely against the grain of the AAP ideology and perhaps which is why Kejriwal & Co decided to call it off without any further damage.

Though he got two policemen sent on leave, clamour has been growing for the resignation of his cabinet minister Somnath Bharti. Apart from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress too has threatened to reconsider its support to Aam Aadmi Party keeping in view the current political developments.

Aam Aadmi Party & Rakesh Roshan Sign A Deal On 'Krishh-4': Arvind Kejriwal To Star As 'Muffler Man' In The Film

Bollywood ace director Rakesh Roshan and Aam Aadmi Party signs a pact to feature Arvind Kejriwal as 'Muffler Man' in 'Krishh-4' film slated to go on floors during early 2015.

Things are finally looking up for AAP, and no, this is not a quote from Yogendra Yadav. Riding on high on the success of getting #MufflerMan to trend for a week and fueling a spate of memes, the AAP cyber-cell has pulled off another coup by landing Arvind Kejriwal the plum role of Muffler Man in Krrish 4.

After Modi, Rahul: 'The Real Political Genius Is Kejriwal'

By M H Ahssan | INN Live

Move over Modi and Rahul, Kejriwal may be the real political genius Behind that utterly simple and benign aam aadmi look ticks a brilliant mind. While that's not exactly breaking news, considering Arvind Kejriwal is an IIT graduate, now it's clearer than ever that he also has a brilliant political mind and that the strong showing of the AAP in Delhi under his leadership was only the beginning.

Consider this--the BJP which was literally taunting the Aam Aadmi Party to form the government in Delhi is now wailing like a petulant child. Delhi BJP leader and CM candidate Harsh Vardhan is crying from the rooftops that the AAP has betrayed the people of Delhi and is hungry for power.

Why Modi Should Not Throw 'Kejriwal Lollipop' In Varanasi?

By Likha Veer | INNLIVE

Newspapers today were salivating over the prospect of a Narendra Modi versus Arvind Kejriwal battle in Varanasi. It ain't gonna happen. A battle of wits between a tantrum-throwing kid and its parents will always attract attention in the mall, but the issue can be settled only at home once the parents have survived the embarrassment at the mall.

While the media would gain TRPs and readership from this engrossing electoral battle, the idea makes no sense from Modi's point of view, even though Modi strategists have been debating the value of getting their man to fight from Uttar Pradesh to raise the profile of the BJP's efforts in this crucial state.

The Minimum Leader: The Unravelling Of Arvind Kejriwal

By NEWSCOP | INNLIVE

Two years on, it is becoming apparent that Arvind Kejriwal is no breakaway from the typical mould of the politician as deception artist.

Arvind Kejriwal’s resume could be kept concise and hilarious: Underdog Extraordinaire. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, is a politician with an obvious appetite for theatrics, and he deserves admiration for his knack for blurring the line between the reality of his problems with the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and the tricks of his own house of mirrors in the capital that cast him as a superhero who champions the rights of the common man. What has helped so far, in no small measure, is his projection of himself as the ultimate victim-hero.

'Where Is Your Female Commando Force Mr.Kejriwal?'

By Aniket Sharma | Delhi

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) seems to be behaving just like any other party when it comes to increasing incidents of crime against women in Delhi. In its election campaign, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, who had slammed then Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for failing to keep women safe, finds himself in same position where he doesn’t have any mechanism to stop or control the increasing rape incidents in the national capital.

Anarchist Or Visionary: Who Is The 'Real' Arvind Kejriwal?

By Siddharth Shukla | Delhi

Who exactly is Arvind Kejriwal? One of the drawbacks of this election is the inadequate time they we have got to figure him out. A few months in politics and a few days in the CM’s chair are inadequate for making up your mind about a leader, especially when the person concerned is a bundle of contradictions.

A conclusive relation between a politician and voters takes time to develop. Narendra Modi, for instance, spent around a decade as chief minister before everybody formed a decisive opinion of him. Rahul Gandhi too has been in public life for almost the same period; based on his performance we now know whether to accept or reject him.

Why AAP is Speeding For A Disastrous Political Suicide?

By M H Ahssan | INN Live

"It is difficult to prioritize what is the most nauseating part of the whole sordid drama — the action itself, the manner in which the vigilante operation was conducted, the attempt to bypass the law with a show of goondaism, or Arvind Kejriwal’s decision to back the protest and demand suspension of the policemen, in effect for the temerity of standing up to the rampaging minister," writes one of a political expert in an incisive column on what is Aam Aadmi Party's single biggest political blunder.

In one fell swoop -- or in this case, a late night raid -- Somnath Bharti has demolished, in great part, the vast reservoir of goodwill the party enjoyed and relied upon. But to do so, as Desai observes, he needed and received the assistance of first Manish Sisodia -- who held the single most politically tone deaf presser in recent memory -- and then Kejriwal who has doubled down on his minister's vigilantism, making it an excuse for a pointless and self-defeating dharna.

Kejriwal From Political Compromiser To Political Anarchist

By Dr. Subhash Kapila (Guest Writer)

Rather than concentrating on transformation of governance, the much hyped AAP Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, lured by media hype of being a strong factor in 2014 General Elections, has in three weeks degenerated into a “political anarchist” by dumping the dignity of the office of Chief Minister and reverting back to street-side political agitation, unmindful of the dignity of the high office he presently holds.

Exclusive: Is Yogendra Yadav Exit From Aam Aadmi Party?

This may well be the case, according to reliable sources, a heated meeting culminated in the National Executive proposing to give Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal the right to reconstitute the party's Political Affairs Committee that could in turn see Yadav being removed from it.

The National Executive meeting had reportedly seen "a heated exchange between a section of the national executive and Yadav, with his role in the run-up to the Delhi elections coming under criticism".

Focus: Khaas Aadmi Or Aam Aadmi, Who Decides?

Arvind Kejriwal has deliberately created ambiguity around the definition of "aam aadmi", in order to advance AAP's political agenda at opportune intervals.

Since October 2013, Indians' adrenaline has been politically charged. India has witnessed a never seen before unprecedented interest in politics. Facebook, Twitter and other social media platforms overflowed with debates, discussions, arguments and trolls about various political leaders and parties.

Has 'Anna' Cheated 'Kejriwal' By Accepting Lokpal Bill?

By Kajol Singh | INN Live

Even as the Lokpal Bill is all set to become a law after it was passed by both the Houses respectively, questions are being raised over Anna Hazare’s changed stance Lokpal Bill drafted and passed by the government.

Earlier, Anna Hazare and his team had registered their strong reservation over Lokpal Bill which was drafted by the government. However, this time around Anna accepted the same Lokpal Bill after Congress and BJP unanimously supported the bill and pitched it in both the Houses to debate.

Arvind Kejriwal, Stop Janata Darbar, This Isn’t Mughal Era

By Sandipen Sharma (Guest Writer)

Does Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal consider himself an avatar of Mughal emperor Jahangir? Though he doesn’t reside in the Agra Fort or likes to be called Jahanpanah, his antic of holding a darbar- e-aam seems inspired by the Mughal Sultanate. Jahangir, if you’ve read history or Amar Chitra Katha, was famous for his system of personal hearing and his ‘golden chain of justice.’ During his reign, anybody could stand outside his fort in Agra and request a personal audience with the emperor. For this, the supplicant had to just pull any of the 60 bells outside the castle. Installing the bell of justice, or insaaf ka ghanta as it was called then, was among Jahangir’s first orders after he ascended the throne in 1605.
