By Ismaeel Ghesawat | INNLIVE Bureau

WEEKEND SPECIAL There have been many kings in Rajasthan who became world famous due to their whims.  One such king is Kishan Singh, the Maharaja of Bharatpur at one time. Kishan Singh for his colorful nature and cynicism was known all over the world. This king had not one, two or four, but 40 queens in total.

Diwan Jaramani Das in his book ‘Maharaja’ has described one incident of Kishan Singh’s craziness. It is said that Kishan Singh was very fond of swimming. To fulfill his passion for swimming he would do anything in the world.

Congress Smells Fear In Modi’s Amethi, Varanasi Actions

By Likha Veer | INNLIVE Bureau

SPOTLIGHT Congressmen are rubbing their hands in glee, as if they have almost won the elections. They seem to be seeing “the light at the end of the tunnel” as far as Narendra Modi is concerned. Modi’s decision to break the unwritten rule by campaigning in Amethi seems to have done more harm to the BJP’s prospects than Rahul Gandhi.

There was pressure building on Modi to take on Rahul Gandhi directly, some were beginning to wonder whether an “adjustment” had been reached between the two sides. But Modi cancelled another rally to be in Amethi on last day of campaigning of penultimate round on 5th May and hit out big time against the Gandhi family.

Why Kejriwal Wrong Contesting Against Modi In Benaras?

By M H Ahssan | INNLIVE Bureau

ELECTION ANALYSIS The Aam Admi Party’s Arvind Kejriwal was brilliant tactically in going after Narendra Modi in Varanasi. He has got media coverage for being brave enough to challenge Modi in a Lok Sabha seat that the Bharatiya Janata Party considers itself well placed.

On the other hand Varanasi, a small town with a small town’s conservatism, is a place in which the Aam Admi Party has no presence. It has neither a large organisation there, nor has it the community that it built in Delhi through its long agitation. So it is probable that Kejriwal will put up a good fight against Modi but will lose.

Battle Of Benares: How To Decode Modi’s Poll Strategy!

By M H Ahssan | INNLIVE Bureau

ELECTION ANALYSIS It’s not new for a political leader of national stature to contest from two seats. Especially, when the leader is projected as prime ministerial candidate, then contesting from two seats should be considered a very normal phenomena, and politically it’s a wise decision. But the question that caught everybody’s attention is that why Benares was picked as contesting seat for Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of the BJP. Many people in Benares think that after winning, Modi would choose to retain his Vadodara seat from Gujarat, his home land and he would hardly come back to the city of temples to serve its people.

Two Young Edupreneurs: Profits Only For Girls’ Education

By Shifa Sheena | INNLIVE Bureau

Charity begins at home and personal values can shape the future of a community. Those are the thoughts that strike me as I enter The Wild Rose Design Studio in Chennai. The store is warm and welcoming, the decor providing a muted backdrop for the artistically crafted pieces on display. An array of clocks, boxes, candle holders, gift bags, ornate dust-bins, table mats, elegant curios and mirrors stare back at me from the display shelves. There is an air of calm about this space that is refreshing.

Security Personnel: The Planning For A 'Safe' Elections

By Likha Veer | INNLIVE Bureau

Politicians are busy either lauding or criticising Mr. Narendra Modi. We, the junta, are busy clicking selfies at poll booths. And the media is busy deciding if NDA will win over 300 seats or will AAP spoil everyone’s party. Amidst the entire hullabaloo what all of us have overlooked is the contribution of the security personnel deployed across the country.

The voting for 16th Lok Sabha elections has been split into 9 phases for a reason. This is arguably the largest democratic exercise in the entire planet, and ensuring it is safe and secure is a gargantuan challenge.

Insight: Who Will Educate the Educators Of Modern India?

By Janaki Nair (Guest Writer)

While Delhi University is facing the wreckers' ball, the Ambedkar University, Delhi has become a viable, vibrant space of thinking and learning. The new political masters must simultaneously perfect the art of judicious intervention to save the former and the craft of withholding the temptation to interfere with the latter. Recently, we had sobering news that as many as 98% of teachers who took the Central Teacher Eligibility Test failed in the attempt.

The Transformation Of The 'Indian Charitable Hospitals'

By Madhurima Nundy (Guest Writer)

SPECIAL REPORT As the lines between for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals get blurred due to market forces, the mission of affordable healthcare becomes the biggest casualty.

One of the vernacular newspaper reported the dismissal of a doctor from St Stephen’s for “not making enough money” for the hospital. Soon after the publication of this report, two senior doctors who were critical of the management decision were served notices.
