Rajasthan King's Royal Bathe With 40 Queens In A Pond!

By Ismaeel Ghesawat | INNLIVE Bureau

WEEKEND SPECIAL There have been many kings in Rajasthan who became world famous due to their whims.  One such king is Kishan Singh, the Maharaja of Bharatpur at one time. Kishan Singh for his colorful nature and cynicism was known all over the world. This king had not one, two or four, but 40 queens in total.

Diwan Jaramani Das in his book ‘Maharaja’ has described one incident of Kishan Singh’s craziness. It is said that Kishan Singh was very fond of swimming. To fulfill his passion for swimming he would do anything in the world.
Krishan Singh would ask his queens to stand on the stairs naked. When the king would enter the pond, every queen would welcome him standing naked. While entering the pond, the king would push one of the queens and take one other in his arms. Till the last stair, the king would play with each one of his queens. All these queens used to carry candles in their hands and at this time, all other lights in the palace would be off.

The queens used to even give a dance performance for the king with candles in their hands. The only that was supposed to be kept in mind was that all the candles had to remain lighted. The queen, whose candle remained till the end, would get an opportunity to sleep with the king that night.
