An 'Evangelist' Converts Hindu Man To Christian At Tirumala Temple, Posts 'Video' Online

In a shocking incident that exposed security flaws at the Tirumala hills, a pastor belonging to a Christian evangelical group shot a video of him converting a man at the hill shrine, which he later posted on the social media.

The self-proclaimed pastor, Mondithoka Sudheer, director Emmanuel Baptist Ministries of India, allegedly shot the video during the Brahmotsavam. His ministry is based in Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad.

Shot by the pastor’s assistant, the video shows him driving his car through the security cordon at Alipiri, addressing the main deity as “small god” and his devotees “lost souls.”

"We bet every Salman Khan fan will break the replay button after watching this video"

He is humble mostly, aggressive rarely, and always blunt. From being peaceful like Prem of Hum Aapke Hain Kaun to Dabangg like Chulbul Pandey, Salman Khan’s reel life is not different from his real life. But there is another side of the superstar, which we do not witness so often.

We all know Salman Khan is a very good singer, thanks to his latest song, Hangover. But what we don’t know is he likes to sing loud at parties with his friends. In a viral old video, the superstar could be seen singing a song from one of his popular films. The video has the actor matching to the tunes of Wajid Ali of Sajid–Wajid fame.

Watch the blast from the past to see Salman’s other side and “DO WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO MAN”.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala’s Target: Shed 20 kilos, give Rs 5000 cr to philanthropy

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has set himself two important targets. By the end of the year, the man people like to call India’s Warren Buffett wants to be 20 kilos lighter than what he was at his peak weight. The second target is more serious: Jhunjhunwala plans to give away Rs 5,000 crore or 25 percent of his total wealth, whichever is lower, to philanthropy when he turns 60 on July 5, 2020. And Jhunjhunwala’s track record would validate the achievability of both targets.

Consider how investors hang on to every word the 54-year-old Jhunjhunwala says about the markets and the economy. Company managements often come to him and make presentations so that he invests in them. But he confesses that he is not as smart as people make him out to be. “My failures are far less known than my successes,” says the billionaire investor during a nearly hour-and-a-half long chat with Forbes India in his 15th floor, sea-facing office at Nariman Point, once Mumbai’s only business district.

Delimitation of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation wards may upset political equations

AMIM, Cong To Be Hit As Core City Likely To Have Fewer Divisions
The delimitation of wards in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is likely to change the political scenario in the city. After the delimitation process, the number of wards in the core city area (erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad) is likely to be cut down by about 20 to 25, while more wards are expected to be added to the surrounding areas of the city , especially the erstwhile surrounding municipalities.

As of now, there are 150 wards in GHMC (100 in core city and 50 in surrounding areas) and after delimitation, the total number is likely to go up to 172. The Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) department issued a GO last week directing GHMC to begin delimitation of wards as per Census 2011 following the directions of AP high court. The court directed that GHMC polls should be conducted only after delimitation process as per 2011 census.

Exclusive: Sweden to get world's first remote-controlled airport

On a clear day, Per Granquist cannot see forever. But from his perch inside the airport control tower here, he does have an unobstructed view of the future. The big picture is provided from a 33-foot mast where a gray turret holds an array of digital video cameras, communications antennas, sensors and microphones -a setup that resembles a cross between a space-age dovecote and a prison guard tower.

The system is meant to collect and integrate information of the sort that Granquist, 40, has been providing with his own eyes and ears as an air traffic controller for the last 17 years at this airport in Sweden. The information from this array, though, is being sent elsewhere -beamed by fibre-optic cable to a windowless room of another airport, 161km south, in Sundsvall.

Death for Nithari killer Koli: Why Meerut jail's hangman calls it a noble job

The long wait is over for Pawan Kumar. The aspiring hangman is set to get his first assignment after the Supreme Court rejected the plea of Surinder Koli, the rapist-cum-serial killer of Nithari, to revoke the death sentence awarded to him earlier. It took time but Kumar was confident that Koli would not escape the noose.

“I am all set to perform the execution and have already done a trial run with a sand bag equal to the weight of the prisoner. I have been eagerly waiting for this moment all my life," 52-year-old Kumar, a resident of Meerut, told INN.

42-year-old Koli, who brutally killed children and women and ate their body parts in Nithari locality of Noida in Uttar Pradesh, was awarded death sentence by a lower court, which was upheld by the Allahabad High Court and confirmed by the Supreme Court in February 2011. While 16 cases were filed against Koli, he has been awarded death sentence in four of them so far and others are still under trial.

An angry Abhishek Bachchan took to the microblogging website, Twitter, to clarify his stand.

Indian Society: An Interesting Interplay of Religion With Culture!

Alain de Botton, one of the best known intellectuals of Britain, suggests that in modern world, culture should have upper hand overreligion. Ultimately, he prescribes that the former should replace the latter in the longer run of the evolution of post-modern society.

It’s fascinating to see how far Alain’s ideas can go in an oriental society like India.Recently, I visited my native district, Deoghar, situated in Jharkhand to celebrate Durga-puja. What surprised me was not the scale with which the festivity was celebrated there, but with the degree of strictness that people still follow the religious rituals. Hardly one can identify any change in the methodology of worship over these years. Even, the animal sacrificeswithin the premise of goddess’ temple still happen uninterrupted. It made me think how strongly religion governs culture in our society. In other words, I saw Alain de Botton’s thesis failing in that small district of Jharkhand.

LOVE-JIHAD? A Hindu-Muslim couple walks into a bar…

Go on, complete the joke. It’s time someone declared open season on ‘love jihad’.

In a novel I’ve been reading for the past couple of weeks, the vice president of a television channel informs a comedian — or at least that’s who she thinks he is — that Jews are not a laughing matter. The comedian agrees. The novel’s satire hinges on the misunderstanding underlying this exchange. The woman means that poking fun at Jews is no longer kosher. The performer, on the other hand, is implying that Jews are really too much of a pain in the neck to be laughing about.

HARSH REALITY: This is what a snake bite can do to you!

Snakes, those creepy crawly reptiles, the appearance of which causes a shiver to run down our spine and makes us run for our lives are far more dangerous than you could ever imagine.

A teenaged girl found this out through a very painful experience. She was bitten by a snake and despite remedies given by her local doctors, her leg, which had been bitten, began rotting and has turned black. The picture was posted on instagram by juventudmedica.

When the local cures failed, she was taken to Venezuela for medical attention. Doctors there say that her leg will have to be amputated and they have also said that she is likely to die of the snake bite despite the amputation, simply because the poison has already spread through her body.

The snake's bite led to something called necrosis - the death of living cells - which caused her leg to rot and degenerate.

Doctors say that the necrosis is likely to lead to aggravate her condition and lead to rhabdomyolysis, in which muscle tissue will begin to die throughout the body ultimately leading to her death.

So, the next time you spot a snake, run like the devil is after you. We want you safe and sound and alive.

Why Modi govt should not have revealed names of black money account holders?

Often politicians glibly say that they cannot comment on an issue  as the matter is sub judice, a convenient alibi for escaping the sustained media and public gaze, little realizing that the doctrine of sub judice has ceased to hold sway in India long ago.

In 1960 India consciously chose to resile from the doctrine that has its origins in countries where jury system of trial is in vogue which India abandoned in that year. Yet, our politicians, many of whom are legal eagles take convenient perch on the non-existent excuse. Be that as it may, the issue is something called respect for the judicial system. If not in deference for sub judice, the government ought to have shown healthy respect for the Apex Court which is now seized of the black money issue.

Behind the victory of a Muslim party in Maharashtra, the gamble of a journalist

Former NDTV correspondent Imtiaz Jaleel ran for elections so that he could make a difference. But why did he chose to represent a Muslim party that many believe is communal?

On September 19, soon after filing a report on a Bharatiya Janata Party election rally, Imtiaz Jaleel, the Pune correspondent of the NDTV news channel, surprised his colleagues by putting in his papers. Two days later, he created a Facebook account, put up a picture of himself dressed Nawab-like in a sherwani, and posted this open letter.

"Dear Brothers, Assalam-alaikum, I am not sure how you are going to react to this development but you will be surprised for sure or rather shocked to know what perhaps is the most toughest decision of my life. Having completed 23 years in journalism ‒ 11 years with Lokmat and near 12 years with NDTV, I have quit this profession, only to take a plunge into active politics. I will be contesting for the Maharashtra state assembly elections on MIM ticket from Aurangabad. (I could visualise your shocked faces!!!)."
