Keeping up with its image of a world class hi-tech city, Hyderabad becomes the second Indian city after Bangalore to offer free wifi hotspots to its people.
The Hitech city, Gachchibowli, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Secretariat and Abids areas along with seven other locations in the city have been chosen as part of the first phase of launching project, which allows anyone to browse up to three hours of free internet in a day. The maximum download limit is capped at 50 MB of data.
D-Vois, the bangalore based service provider is involved in the project, which would spread to 10 other locations of the city by the coming month. Other than free internet facility, the city people can also enjoy free apps as well including parking app, garbage app and many others.
Many HD cameras have been also installed at various hotspots, ensuring that the free internet service doesn’t interfere with the security of the city in any ways.
The state Information Technology department has also set up a system which assists in knowing 'who' is logging in and using 'what' instrument.
The free wifi facility comes up as a big plus to the tech savvy citizens of the software hub of India.
