Public relations professional Misbah Quadri, 25, uncovered Mumbai’s worst-kept secret of two decades when she approached the National Human Rights Commission this week with a complaint that she had been forced to vacate a legitimately leased apartment because she is Muslim. It certainly isn’t the first case of its kind in the place that is usually touted as India’s most cosmopolitan metropolis.

The Union tourism ministry put up a draft of the policy on its website on April 30 and gave the general public only 10 days to respond.

In a dramatic move, the Hindu Outfits Group (joint action commitee) president Rajinder Singh said around 170 members, in three teams, carried out the entire defacing the muslim names road signs“operation”.

Signages of roads named after Muslim personalities such as Emperor Akbar and Firozshah, among others, were found defaced late Wednesday. The names have been blackened and posters of right-wing group — Shiv Sena Hindustan — were pasted on them.

Nepal Earthquake Disaster: Above 3500 Killed, Fresh Tremors Rattles India, Nepal, Relief Operations In Full Swing, Himalayan Avalanche Killed 300, Many Missing

SPECIAL REPORT: Fresh strong aftershock hit Nepal and parts of north India, a day after the Himalayan nation was hit by an earthquake of magnitude of 7.9. It triggered another avalanche in the HImalayas.

The United States Geological Survey said the tremor was 6.7 magnitude, less than the 7.9 quake that struck the region killing at least 3,500 people. Parts of north and east India too experienced the tremors. Experts have said that more aftershocks may follow for a few days. A total fo 35 aftershocks have hit the Himalayan region so far.

To a large extent, I feel, farmers in Bihar depend on subsistence farming - they grow vegetables and cereals on most of their land.
