Happy Birthday Actor 'Salman Khan', A 48-Year-Old Virgin

By Niloufer Khan | INN Live

If you have a knack for surprising news and exciting events, you know who your man is. Yes, he might not be producing 'quality' content in a critic's term, but he is not there to be ignored. The personification of sheer star power, Salman Khan is known for throwing people completely out of hook as his dry sense of humour is amusing as well as penetrating.

Born as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan on December 27, 1965, he is the flag-bearer of something called super-stardom. Probably the most powerful Hindi film 'star' of current times, Salman is raw, tender and intimidating, all at the same time.

Hit & Run Case: Salman Khan May Face 10 Years Jail

In a major setback to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, a Magistrate’s court accepted the plea of the Maharashtra government that he should be tried under section 304 (II) of Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), a graver offence, in the 2002 hit and run case. At present, Salman is being tried under section 304 (I), (rash and negligent driving) which attracts maximum punishment of two years. Section 304 (II) attracts the maximum sentence of ten years. Following today’s order, the Magistrate committed the case to Sessions court for trial, as the offence is serious. “Salman would have to appear before the Sessions court on February 11,” said his lawyer, advocate Dipesh Mehta. On September 28, 2002, Khan’s Toyota Land Cruiser, allegedly being driven by him, rammed into a bakery in suburban Bandra, killing one and injuring four others who were sleeping on the pavement. The trial before the Bandra Magistrate’s court started in 2006.
Next Project As Producer? Salman Khan’s production company , Salman Khan Being Human Productions (SKBHP), is all set to produce low budget films that will almost always have a happy ending and a strong moral message as well. SKBHP’s first outing at the box office was in 2011 with Chillar Party that won National Film Award for Best Children’s Film. And no there’s no sequel in the offing. Not yet anyway. Salman told HNN, that the production house is working on their next film and is going through two to three scripts. Salman Khan, who’s films often end up being a part of  the Rs 100 crore earning club and are often made on an extravagant scale, said that it was  imperative that the movies that his production house made were on small budgets. “Technically, the money that goes into production isn’t the foundation’s money, since it goes from our pockets. Still, the idea is to make a good film with little money that brings in big business and helps our foundation grow,” said Salman. The actor is vying for an audience that mainly consists of children as his target audience and reiterated that the banner aims to make ‘feel good’ films.
Asks Fans To Support Kamal Haasan: Salman Khan has joined in the list of celebrities who have come out in support of superstar Kamal Haasan, who is currently facing a ban on his big-budget filmVishwaroopam. “It is just a movie and there are only two kinds of movies good or bad, hit and flop and only people who decide are ones who buy tickets. Hope each and every fan of his supports him like I am doing and want all my fans to fully support him,” Salman posted on micro-blogging site Twitter. The 47-year-old also requested people to stand outside cinema halls and insist on watching the movie. “Then go stand out side the cinema hall and insist on seeing the film, its a movie dude, entertainment, what law and order problem on a movie? Go there insist that you wanna see it, there is a supreme court judgement after the film is censored no body can stop it.” Members of the film fraternity like Shah Rukh Khan, Mahesh Bhatt and Karan Johar have also supported Haasan. Vishwaroopam, which is approximately made on a budget of 100 crores, has been banned from being screened in Tamil Nadu after protests from some Muslim groups claiming that the film shows the religion in negative light.

'This Might Be My Last Season Of Bigg Boss': Salman Khan

By Niloufer Khan / Mumbai

Bigg Boss 7 has some new controversy to deal with. It seems Sallu bhai is not too happy with the way the inmates of Bigg Boss 7 are fighting and has threatened to quit the show if the inmates continue to scrap among themselves.

An angry Salman said on yesterday’s show, “Because of this episode, this might be the last season for me.” Salman was referring to an earlier episode which had seen some nasty fights between Kushal, Gauhar and Tanisha.  Salman was also very angry with Kushal over how he talked to Tanisha and said that ideally Tanisha should have hit him.

'Jai Ho', Story Of Munnabhai, Chulbul Pandey’s Love Child

By Raahil Kazmi | INN Live

Allow us to give you a little peak into the world of reviewing films in India. Here's how it works. Someone makes a film and a company/ production house finances it. A few days before the film will be released, the production house organises screenings for the media so that by Friday, you can go to your favourite news outlet — newspaper, television channel or website — and find out what the film reviewers thought of the film.

The only production house that doesn't follow this pattern is Yash Raj Films, whose policy appears to be that real fans and reviewers get access to the film at the same time: a 9am show, usually on Friday. This week's big release is Jai Ho, directed and co-produced by Sohail Khan, starring Salman Khan. The Khans didn't organise press screenings of the film in India, which is why you'll have to wait to get the Indian reviewers' verdict on the film.

Salman Khan Vs Rahul Gandhi = Filmdom Vs Politics

By Niloufer Khan / Mumbai

If there is anything more confusing than Rahul Gandhi‘s role in the Congress, it has to be Salman Khan’s role in the lives of several beautiful women who make it to tabloid headlines everyday. A quick round up of recent news around Salman and women would throw up stories about the actor planning to launch Katrina’s sister Isabella, advising Suraj Pancholi to get rid of Jiah Khan and backing starlet Sanaa Khan who allegedly tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl.

With partial or no confirmation from Khan, these pieces of news fizzled out after Twitter ran out of jokes. However, the girl who has remained in focus is Iulia Vantur, a Romanian TV actor who has earned the good fortune of being called his ‘girlfriend’ by the media.

So who is Iulia Vantur? Since, none of us have enough language skills to refer to Romanian TV we’ll have to go by hearsay.

Shocking Reality: 'Bigg Boss - 7' Steps Into Hate 'Gay' Area

By Niloufer Khan / INN Live

Reality TV show made a bold move when it showed two men in a relationship. But host Salman Khan has raised hackles by mocking and laughing at them.

When two men, cuddle, touch, communicate via expressions and are happy in each other’s company, even the simple phrase ‘Pyar Ho Gaya,’ can be transformed into a telling phrase. On reality television show Bigg Boss, host and actor Salman Khan underlined his point with emphasis on the “gay” in “gaya, to imply that two housemates, both men, are involved.

This dual character seems to spill over on to his anchoring as well. So just when you think Salman is the upholder of the rights of the female contestants of Bigg Boss, he throws a curveball and proves that’s just a delusion.

This dichotomy that is Salman Khan was on full display in the last week of the show.

Analysis: Who Will Host 'Bigg Boss' If Salman Khan Quits?

By M H Ahssan / INN Live

Yes, it could happen! Salman Khan said that he would quit the show if his audience didn’t want to see him any more, since people have been tweeting criticisms of the Bigg Boss 7 host. And that could throw open the opportunity for celebs from tinsel town to take over. But who will fit into Salman’s highly polished shoes?

We heard from Salman Khan himself that he is planning to give up on Bigg Boss. Why? With so much negativity, gaali-galoch, lewd comments, shouting, crying and worse, the bhai of B-town seems to have had enough of playing host to a show that is now bringing him a lot of criticism. And there is more to the story. Over the past few episodes of Bigg Boss 7, Salman has been accused of showing bias towards Tanishaa Mukherji, sister-in-law of a close SK buddy, Ajay Devgn.

Now, Salman Khan's Turn To Face The 'Music Of Law'

Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is facing fresh charges in the blackbuck poaching case, is all set to appear in person before a Sessions Court here in the 2002 hit-and-run case on March 25.

He would return from the USA tonight and appear before the Court on Monday, sources close to the superstar said.

The case would come up for the first time before the Sessions Court after a Magistrate transferred the matter to that court by charging the actor with a more serious charge of 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder'.

Along with the prosecution's case against Salman, the court would also hear his appeal against the Magistrate's order, invoking the charge of 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder' against him which attracts a punishment up to ten years in prison.

Sessions Judge U B Hejib has scheduled the hearing for March 25, and the 47-year-old had been asked to be present on that day, the sources said.

It would be Salman's first appearance before the Sessions court after Bandra Magistrate's court referred the case to the Sessions Court (because the offence he is now charged with is serious).

Earlier, the Magistrate had asked Salman to appear before the Sessions court on March 11, but he did not go to the court that day as the case was yet to be assigned to any judge.

Sources said as there would be a fresh trial, evidence produced before the Magistrate's court would not be considered and prosecution may have to adduce evidence afresh.

One person was killed and four injured when a Land Cruiser, allegedly driven by Salman, ran over people sleeping on pavement outside a bakery in suburban Bandra in the wee hours of September 28, 2002.

On March 8, advocate Ashok Mundargi, Salman's lawyer, had urged the Sessions court to hear the main case against the actor and his appeal against Magistrate's order invoking the charge of `culpable homicide not amounting to murder' (section 304 part II of IPC) simultaneously.

The trial before the Magistrate was proceeding on the lesser charge of 'causing death by negligence' (section 304 A of Indian Penal Code), which attracts maximum punishment of two years in jail.

After examining 17 witnesses, the Magistrate concluded that the charge of 'culpable homicide not amounting to murder' was prima facie made out against the actor.

Salman Khan in blackbuck poaching case

Salman Khan is also fresh facing charges, along with four other actors, in a 14-year-old case of blackbuck poaching during a film shooting in Rajasthan.

The court of chief judicial magistrate will read out the fresh charges on Saturday to Khan and co-accused Saif Ali Khan, Tabbu, Sonali Bendre, Neelam in connection with the hunting of protected blackbuck at Kankani village in Jodhpur during shooting of film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain'.

The Rajasthan High Court had revised the charges against these stars in December 2012, charging Khan with section 51 of Wildlife Protection Act and others including a local accused Dushyant Singh with section 51/52 of Wildlife Protection Act and section 149 of IPC.

Rape As A Flippant Metaphor: Superstar Salman Khan's Comment Reflects Our Attitude

By M H AHSSAN | INNLIVE

It seems that when it comes to Salman Khan, to err is Being Human, to forgive is divine.

Acrtor Salman Khan has shown that he does not need helpless blackbucks and hapless pavement dwellers to land himself in hot hot water. He can do it very efficiently on his own even while doing publicity for his own film.

The latest brouhaha is around a remark about his grueling schedule for the film Sultan. In an interview with INNLIVE, Salman said, “When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight.”

Chennai Express, All About 'Mythology Of Shah Rukh Khan'

By M H Ahssan / INN Bureau

It’s unfair to call Rohit Shetty’s latest offering a film. Rather, Chennai Express is a gift that keeps giving. The promised box office collections suggest it’s going to give Shetty and all those who have partnered with him a lot of money.

There are gags, explosions, helicopters, pretty settings, fights and even a midget, which means the film is a crowd pleaser. The story is about as watery as the sambar in a bad Udipi restaurant — with clichés floating about like miserable bits of drumstick — which means critics have enough to complain about while writing their reviews.

Fabulous And Fantastic 'Khans' At 50: A Tale Of 'Stardom'

In a recent interview, Aamir Khan revealed that save for the last name and the fact that they were born in the same year (1965), there is actually very little common between the trio that has been ruling Bollywood for more than two decades. And that contrast, in his opinion, has been a big factor in the longevity of their success, as each of them has managed to connect with the audience in very unique ways.

For a greater part of their careers, Salman Khan has been seen as the larger-than-life, mass superstar; Shah Rukh Khan as the king of romance with an undisputed supremacy in the overseas market; and Aamir Khan as the risk-taking, intellectual actor who has never allowed himself to fall into the trap of his stardom and those mega-box-office-records.
