What’s Riding On Salman Khan? Rs. 700 Crore Or More!

It is hard to argue with the kind of fame Salman Khan found with his second coming, which started in 2009 with Wanted. He’s had a bit of a Midas touch since, with a slew of hits. As a result, he is, at present, the best example of what Bollywood likes to call a ‘bankable’ star.

But with a crucial new development in his 2002 hit-and-run case (a chemical analysis expert recently testified that the alcohol content in his blood on the day of the incident was higher than normal), many in Bollywood and the ad world are nervous about the eventual outcome.

“Currently, he is the biggest star, who churns out one box-office success after another,” says trade analyst Komal Nahta. As per industry estimates, a whopping Rs. 650-700 crore is riding on the star — combining big-ticket films, ad campaigns and a particular TV show contract.

Bigg Boss-8 TV Reality Show Is Turning Into A 'Big Yawn'

Bigg Boss is slowly turning into one big yawn. And I’m one of the few people I know who is extremely accepting of its mediocrity. The one thing you can usually bank on Bigg Boss for is some high jinks drama.

But ever since Kim Kardashian turned into a no-show, Bigg Boss seems to have run out of steam. It’s the same old screaming matches, faux fisticuffs and slightly suspect romances. So, what’s been going under at the Bigg Boss house in the last week or so?

Naked Truth: How Indians Are Making Worse Things For Women With Mental Disabilities?

Life in India is already hard for anyone who looks or acts a little different from the the norm ‒  think of the treatment given to a foreigner or an albino or a person with a stutter. Because of this, anyone born with a mental disability is condemned to a truly difficult life. And, as with anything in India, it gets worse if they are female.

Kill The ‘Daayni’: Witch Hunts, Death Haunt Assam Villages

Superstitions are increasingly being exploited to settle scores and arbitrarily persecute people.

Saloki Mardi tried to escape violence but it snared her in the end. On November 18, the 45-year-old was hacked to death by unidentified men in Assam’s Udalguri district, where she had taken refuge after being declared a “witch” in her native village of Goraimari in Bongaigaon district in October.

Debjani Bora too could not evade brutality. A national-level medal-winning javelin thrower, she was branded a “witch” in her village in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district in October after the death of four people there. She was then dragged to a prayer hall, tied in fishing nets, and assailed severely.

Shocking: 'Live Worms' Found In 'SubWay' Burgers And Other Products In Hyderabad Outlets

Please double check and see carefully before wolfing down your staple dainty, delicious Sub at a nearby Subway store, lest a little live worm should become a part of your meal.

For, Ashish Reddy was flabbergasted when, in his own words, “I found one live worm patiently waiting inside to kiss my lips and die" at SUBWAY store in Ramky Towers, Gachibowli, Hyderabad. He has even posted a detailed account of the incident at his Facebook page along with some images that will make your hair stand on end and make you think twice before visiting a Subway store again, unless you are fond of eating worms.

Stop This “Braveheart” Nonsense: Give Rohtak Sisters All Awards But Not For Bravery

When the two sisters in the Rohtak (Haryana) bus were being attacked on Sunday, the obvious thing the bus driver and attendant should have done was to drive the bus to the nearest police station and hand over the molesters to law officers. There were several eye-witnesses, the assaulter/abusers as well as their victims were present in the same spot at the same time and it would have saved the girls the trauma of recounting their story to the police. The problem would then have been appropriately framed and shifted to the state authorities whose job it is to protect citizens.

New Versions Challenge Rohtak Sisters' Story - Whose Truth Is The Truth?

The video opens with two girls in a heated tussle with a man in a bus in Rohtak, Haryana. One of the girls uses her belt to hit him and he too is seen retaliating. The girls, both sisters, were reportedly acting out against three men because they allegedly harassed them.

‘Bravehearts’, 'Courage Sisters', the names given to the ‘Rohtak sisters’ by the media, warded off their alleged assaulters with all their might as other passengers chose to be passive onlookers. A pregnant woman, who the girls claimed was the only person to have shown them support on the bus, is said to have had captured the entire incident on a phone.
