Madhya Pradesh: The Undiscovered Polity Of Indian Face
By Parsa Venkatesh (Guest Writer)
Madhya Pradesh is an understated state in the country. It has a rich history to rival that of any other state but there seems to be no great fanaticism about its past. The past lives on quietly with a quiet present. More importantly, it has a natural grandeur of forest, hill, dale, plain, rivers, rivulets, lakes that is not to be found in the better-known scenic parts of the country.
The state is also relatively under-populated, though the residents of Indore may complain that their city is getting overcrowded and that traffic snarls are worse than those of Mumbai. Madhya Pradesh reminds one of almost a virgin country, which can absorb immigrants in large numbers and this can be done without destroying the forests, without choking the rivers and lakes — as it has begun to partly in Bhopal — and keeping intact the sense of the expanse of the land.

'Indian Politics Dancing With Democratic Bureaucracy'
By M H Ahssan | INN Live
The bureaucracy can never be immune to political interference as long as bureaucrats are willing to twist and bend before politicians to get the postings of their choice
The Supreme Court’s recent move to set up a Civil Services Board for the management of babu promotions and emoluments, granting fixed tenure to them, and freeing them of the obligation to obey oral orders from the executive — though a boon to honest bureaucrats who are transferred frequently — has the potential to bring within its wake more harm than good. The Supreme Court has replaced the increasingly erratic and unresponsive executive power with the rule of the judiciary.

Anti-Islamic Act: Saudi Women Hiring Surrogates Abroad
By Rima Al Mukhtar | Jeddah
Saudi women who are unable to conceive are traveling abroad to enter into financial agreements with surrogate mothers to carry their child — a practice not permitted by the Islamic Jurisprudence Council.
The Saudi Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics said these surrogates, also known as “uterus zir,” rent their wombs to carry the fetus of childless couples.
Dr. Samir Abbas, a member of the society and an expert in gynecology, surgery and infertility, said a large number of Saudi families look to European and Asian countries for surrogate mothers if a woman in the family is unable to carry a child for health reasons.

26/11 Story: Kasab's Last Words, 'Aap Logon Ki Jeet Hai'
By Rohini Matunga | Mumbai
One morning in January 2009, Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist captured alive during the November 26, 2008 attacks, told Investigating Officer Ramesh Mahale, "It has been eight years and you haven't hanged Afzal Guru, I have enough time."
Mahale, 56, then a Senior Inspector with the Crime Branch, was surprised. "I was unaware of the number of years Guru had been waiting. Further questioning revealed that Kasab had not only undergone physical training, but also knew enough about our legal landscape," he recalls, five years after the Mumbai Attacks
On the night of the 26/11 attacks, Mahale was outside Hotel Trident, co-ordinating rescue operations, when he was sent to Nair Hospital.
