Dangerous Glass Pieces Found In 'McCain's Aloo Tikki Pack'

By Kajol Singh | INNLIVE

SHOCKING If 'fast' food is an indispensable part of your life, you might want to 'slow' down on it now. At least such is the case for Gagandeep Kaur, a resident of Delhi's Mukherji Nagar. Today, a shocked Gagandeep narrated her terrible experience to INNLIVE.

It was a normal day for her as she fried two pieces of frozen McCain Aloo Tikkis, sandwiched them inside burger buns, added dollops of mayonnaise for a quick, yummy evening snack. "I made two burgers out of it, one for myself and another for my mom," Gagandeep recounts.
A few bites later, she found herself chewing on sharp-edged pieces of glass inside the crispy potato cutlet. "The glass pieces were inside the Mc Cain cutlet! Both my mother and I had munched them, and it was in our mouth. Thankfully, we were saved. But we could have gotten hurt," details the aghast mother of a toddler.

Gagandeep further told INNLIVE, "I was horrified. I have the photographs of the cutlet with the pieces as well as the packet of McCain which I cut open today itself. We bought a couple of packets together while shopping. Now, I am too scared of using the other ones, post this incident. I fear those might contain harmful glass pieces too."

Gagandeep, having no contact of anyone from McCain foods, merely uploaded her experience on the social networking site, warning her friends, "Found sharp edged pieces of glass in Mccain Frozen Aloo Tikki...so plz beware before purchasing." "In the tikki, it came in my bite," read her tagline, much to the shock of her friends and relatives.

"Though I have thrown the cutlet in the dustbin, as I was too taken aback by this whole incident, I do have ample evidences of my terrible experience," she added while sharing the details (bar code, etc) of the concerned McCain packet with INNLIVE.

As per the website of McCain Foods (India), it is a wholly-owned subsidiary of McCain Foods Limited in Canada. The website quotes, "At McCain, it's our constant endeavor to create good food that is delightfully fresh.
