Kejriwal’s ‘Dinner Date’ Joins Chartered Plane Controversy

By M H Ahssan | INNLIVE

SPECIAL REPORT Living on hardcore socialistic principles is the most challenging job, especially if you boast for its healthy spread, every time you arrive on the scene and contest vociferously  the vulgar spends of our ‘netas’ who are not only allegedly corrupt, but numb towards economic upliftment of our “ever perennial” poor class. This is what AAPians believe, through their ranks.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal courted controversy on Friday with his extravagant ways, fairly opposite to his pro-poor antics, an image he has spun around him shrewdly, over the last year and a half.
After enjoying a Mercedes car ride from the airport to a hotel and then flying back to Delhi in a chartered plane, self-proclaimed muffler wearing ‘messiah’ of poor in the country, courted a big time controversy.

What fueled more oil in the burning fire was the fact he was invited to speak at a private media event. Lot of attacking questions were posed by hecklers but attracted anesthetized response to the hullabaloo.

When social media, the same platform that goes ‘hail-hail’ Kejri every time he takes on an ‘anti’ national neta, as he considers the every second face glorifying our parliament to be, poured outrage over his questionable ways of costly travel, just after he ended raising a huge hue and cry over the issue of the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi snubbing him over his abrupt and senseless demand to meet the Bjp leader when he demanded – the ‘Swaraj’ man was quick to respond with a tweet  “Reached India today conclave from Jaipur. Since there was no regular flt, India today group hired a charter to reach me in Delhi on time.”

Taking on the bull by his horns, the greatest leader after Gandhi as Aapians often refer him, again tweeted but this time questioning Rahul and Modi “I wud urge Modi ji and Rahul Gandhi ji also to disclose whose planes r they using and who pays for them.”

But, by the time, many of his detractors had gained an issue and reasoned out why certain media sections are all too cozy to the Aap covenor.

“Now we know who funds AAP!” - Speculations, insinuations and doubts follow every debate, if it’s a one at all – speaking frankly!

But, controversies don’t stop at that. Here is a shocker of a century. A socialist, not exactly in Gandhi’s mould but Nehru can be a parallel, invites an entry of Rs. 20,000 per head dinner date with him.

The fundraising event will be organized at a hotel in the city centre (Bangalore) on March 15, where Kejriwal will interact with guests for an hour. So, cash donations come up, this time around, over the table top. AAP doesn’t like hush money through under the table route– mind you.

As per media reports, the man behind the initiative is V Balakrishnan, former Infosys board member, who joined AAP recently. If sources are to be believed, every name that counts in Bangalore from technology to venture capital industry is invited, provided they are interested to meet Kejri and intermingle with him.

Estimated amounts to be calculated the amount to be nearing around Rs. 40 lakh at Rs. 20,000 for 200 guests. No matter how the entire event turns out finally, AAP will be the first host that will be pocketing cash despite serving scrumptious dinner to the attendees in the history.

Interestingly, this is how whole ‘dynamics’ of socialism is changing in the country – courtesy Arvind Kejriwal. Good or bad, it’s for the time to decide!
