Despite the controversy over the grounds under which he was being granted parole, actor Sanjay Dutt today left Yerwada jail in Pune after his parole was approved by the Pune police. Dutt has been convicted under the Arms Act for his involvement in the 1993 serial blasts case.
The actor had sought parole on the grounds that his wife Maanyata was ill. However, she had been spotted at attending various events sparking controversy.
The 30-day parole that has been granted to the actor is conditional and he has to report to Khar police station for two days in a week. This isn't the first time that the actor has stepped out of jail after the Supreme Court upheld his conviction and sentenced him to five years in prison. He had earlier availed of 15 days leave of furlough in October, which he extended by another fortnight on medical grounds.
