Game Plan: 'Telangana Without Hyderabad' On Cards?

By Ravichander Akula / Hyderabad

None of the city Congress leaders participating in the Telangana Sadhana Sabha organized by the Congress leaders on a very large scale, under the auspices of the deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha shocked many Telangana leaders.

Labour minister Danam Nagender claimed that the city leaders were directed by the party president Sonia Gandhi not to attend, though there is no scope of establishing the veracity of the minister’s claim. But the fact remains that no senior leader of the Congress from Hyderabad had shown interest in attending the meeting.
While Danam remained in Delhi on the day, another city minister Mukhesh Goud stayed back at his residence watching the programme on TV, though he was available in the city. MLAs Vishnu Vardhan Reddy (Jubilee Hills), Marri Sasidhar Reddy (Sanat Nagar), Manemma (Musheerabad), Dr. Shankar Rao (Cantonment), Akula Rajender (Malkajgiri), Devireddy Sudhir Reddy (L B Nagar) and Kichennagari Lakshma Reddy (Medchal) had not shown interest in attending the meeting.

They remained in their constituencies and had not bothered to attend such a big show of the party’s Telangana leaders. Now Danam claims that Sonia Gandhi herself directed the city leaders not to attend any meeting on Telangana. He said they all abstained from the meeting, obeying the orders of Madam.

What does it indicate? Is Madam thinking of creating a Telangana state without Hyderabad? This is the question biting the minds of all the Telangana protagonists.
