Ramu's 'Attack On 26/11' In Controversy!

Ramgopal Varma's 'The Attacks 26/11' film stirred up a controversy even before its release. A lawyer submitted a memorandum to the Censor Board, to stop the film's release in Andhra Pradesh.

There were reports that Ram Gopal Varma faced threats from some Hindu organizations because of the film. One Ram Prasad, a lawyer, filed the petition with the Censor Board, asking that release of the film be stopped. He said some of the scenes were likely to whip up communal hatred and might even pose threat to the internal security of the nation. He expressed anxiety that the country faced more harm than use by making a film on this incident. Apart from exposing the security lapses, the film served no other purpose he contended. He said he was ready to file a petition in the high court.

When the media contacted the Censor Officer Dhana Lakshmi, she said their duty ends with censoring a film and issuing certificate. She said stopping release of a film was not in their hands. Meanwhile, audiences are discussing about how many more hurdles the film might face as it was already shrouded in controversies.
