Missing Buffaloes Found, What About Missing Children?

By Shafia Nazeer | Lucknow

After a massive buffalo hunt operation, involving sniffer dogs and crime branch officials, Uttar Pradesh police has finally a reason to smile. Although 3 policemen have been punished, but this could have been worse had they failed to trace the buffaloes. Above all, this was a priority case and Superintendent of Police led the operation and delivered in time. Great job Uttar Pradesh police.

Muzzafarnagar riots victims can wait, nothing is going to happen to them now since they have managed to survive the severe winter period. Yes, some deaths have been reported, but you can't control everything.
Yes, law and order is important and Uttar Pradesh Police will address the issue, but only later, as the top priority should be given to big case like missing buffaloes.

One should not forget that these buffaloes belong to Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan. You should never underestimate the power of Azam Khan. Recently, he has hogged the media limelight for very important reasons.

He is in-charge of Muzaffarnagar district. There were riots there and the culprits are still roaming in open. But, if he can't protect his buffaloes, he can't be expected to protect his people. So, he is more concerned about the big issues right now.

Recently, he led a junket of ministers and MLAs on a study tour packed with sight-seeing. Yes, an uproar forced the delegation to return earlier than planned.

This is the sad story of Uttar Pradesh, where reality defies common sense. Azam Khan's buffaloes were found immediately, but police fails to act swiftly in other case.
