'Nobody Will Be Spared For Telangana State': Jagan Reddy

By Ramesh Reddy / INN Live

“I am starting this Samaikya Shankharavam with a call to all the people of Andhra Pradesh, let us remain united”. YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy started his speech at the public meeting with these words after blowing the symbolic ‘Shankhu’ to indicate the fight against bifurcation and the arrogant ways of Congress leadership.

YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today said that people will never forgive UPA Chairperson and AICC President Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and TDP President Chandra Babu Naidu for dividing Telugu people.
He was addressing a mammoth gathering of united Andhra Pradesh supporters at LB stadium this evening.

Addressing the huge rally, Jagan said: “Today, students are asking what will happen to their jobs after finishing their studies. Today, government employees are asking wherefrom they will get their salary if Hyderabad is taken away. Today, farmers are asking how they will get water fro their crops if the state is divided and another state comes in between AP and Karnataka. Today, my sisters are asking where their kids will get education if Hyderabad is out of bounds. ”

Jagan reiterated three parties namely YSRCP, AIMIM and CPIM opposed the division of state.

Jagan then invoked the travails that will be faced by students, employees and farmers, who are already on the roads protesting the losses they will incur if the state is divided.

Jagan expressed disappointment that his views were not appreciated by Congress president Sonia Gandhi and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, about the need for integrated state by sitting in fast and submitting resignations as MPs. He said: “Sonia Gandhi could not understand why we are doing all these. Chandrababu is asking for packages to Seemandhra, could not understand. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, who is cheating people, could not understand my concern.”

Taking on the Congress high-command for treating people of Andhra Pradesh like toys by not taking their opinion in bifurcation decision. Jagan said: “We are not pawns in the game of chess. We are not toys to be played with.”

On the issue of water resources and sharing river waters, Jagan tried to fault Opposition leader Chandrababu and CM Kiran saying: “Can’t Chandrababu Naidu and CM Kiran Reddy understand what will happen to our rights in river waters if the state is divided. Don’t they know that despite the presence of courts and inter-state tribunals, we are not getting water from Karnataka? Don’t they know that despite the presence of tribunals, every year the Prime Minister has to intervene on the Cauvery water issue between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka?”

Jagan went on to warn about the untold sufferings that will befall farmers, because just with the decision of bifurcation, upper riparian states Maharashtra and Karnataka are trying to take away AP’s assured waters by influencing Justice Brajesh Kumar tribunal.

Jagan warned of the consequences if another state comes in between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in such a situation: “If another state is born between AP and Karnataka, then where from we will get water for Sri Sailam and Nagarjuna Sagar? Centre will simply say we will set up another tribunal and you go to hell.” He warned of daily fights between farmers in the Krishna catchment area if the state is divided.

Dwelling on the key subject of Hyderabad city, Jagan dished out statistics to show that the uncertainty over the last three years has dented Hyderabad’s image as a key investment destination. He said: “Hyderabad was in third position nationally in attracting investments and going by the latest data, the city stands at 12th place now. Even Coimbatore is ranked seventh now, way ahead of Hyderabad.”

Perhaps keeping in mind the allegations by TDP that YSRCP leaders have not taken on Congress president Sonia Gandhi as they have a match-fixing deal, Jagan came out with a big poser to Sonia Gandhi. He said: “ Amma, you got married to Rajiv Gandhi in 1968. You took Indian citizenship after 15 years, that is in 1983. You have been amongst us for the last 30 years. If a Bill is passed in Parliament to the effect that all those who have taken Indian citizenship have to leave the country, can you take it?”

He faulted Chief Minister Kiran when he said:”Chief Minister Kiran Reddy should have resigned on the day CWC resolution was announced on July 30. But he is now shedding crocodile tears.”
