An Anonymous Saudi Freed 63 Inmates With 'Donation'

By Fauzia Arshi / Jeddah

An anonymous philanthropist has donated more than SR 2 million to the Directorate General of Prisons to help 63 prisoners reunite with their parents and families during Eid Al-Fitr. The donation will benefit prisoners convicted of crimes against the public interest in the cities and towns of Riyadh, Jeddah, Hail, Arar, Taif, Baha, Najran, the northern border area and the Eastern Province.
Brig. Gen. Mohsen bin Muhammad Al-Taweel, director of guidance and direction management and chairman of the payment committee, said the prisoners received the news with joy. Al-Taweel expressed his thanks to the donor for giving prisoners the chance to spend Eid with their parents and families, especially in the holy month.

Indian Muslim philanthropists should learn from these incidents, at least once in every year in Ramadan to freed innocent, poor Muslim convicts who are suffering in jail despite their 'bail' granted, long ago for just a meager amount for their bail security deposits. Hope people will learn with this news.
