Rs.500 Cr of 60,000 Persons Cheated By Vizag Firm

About 60,000 gullible investors were cheated by Vizag based Insurance business company SIMS Projects.com at the tune of Rs.500 crores, according to police. Police nabbed all the directors and chairman after rec eiving hundereds of complaints by invested persons. 

Surendhra Gupta chief of the 'SIMS' company which ditched thousands of gullible investors offering higher interest in Visakha district, is now expressing helplessness. It may be recalled that the swindler had surrendered before the police. He told the police that he was not in a position to pay back the deposits and needed two months time for repayment. 

Meanwhile, victims thronged before the police station, stating that Gupta and his wife Bhuvaneswari had cheated them. They demanded that he be handed over to them, so that they would settle the issue with him themselves. Each of the victims has a story of woe to narrate. While one person says he had deposited Rs. 8 lakhs saved for his daughter's marriage, another said he had invested Rs. 6 lakhs he got on retirement. It is learnt that there are about 60,000 persons who lost their money. There are several farmers also among the victims. Those who borrowed the money to invest in the company are wailing now. 

Now some information about Surendra Gupta became known. He purchased hundreds of acres of land at several places with the money he collected from the people. His victims say that he had purchased 250 acres of land at Repalle in Guntur district recently. It is learnt that he has been stating that he had properties worth Rs. 155 crore, while he owed only Rs. 85 crores. He reportedly said that he would sell off his properties and pay back the depositors.
