This is a tale of two warring chief ministers. One, K Chandrasekhara Rao, or KCR, was elected for delivering on his huge promise of getting statehood for Telangana. The other, N Chandrababu Naidu, was elected because people felt he had a vision for the truncated state of Andhra Pradesh, from which Telangana had been carved out, and could work with the Centre to get things done, including building a new capital. But the two men do not get along and are projecting their personal rivalry into a competition between their states.

Focus: Is India The Next 'Emerging Markets' Destination?
By SHEENA SHAFIA | INNLIVE
India was among the wealthiest nations in the ancient times, aptly nicknamed the golden bird. Throughout history, India has been subject to multiple invasions, the most damaging one being the two-century long British colonial rule that shattered India’s social and economic fabric.
When India finally achieved a hard-won independence in 1947, it was a divided nation with a destitute economy, poor infrastructure, over dependence on imports and a legacy of poverty and illiteracy.

Does Global Stock Market Turmoil Signals BRIC Is Over?
By NEWSCOP | INNLIVE
Back in 2001, former Goldman Sachs chief economist Jim O’Neill coined the acronym BRIC to highlight the immense economic potential of the emerging markets of Brazil, Russia, India and China in the decades to come.
They would be the economic engines of tomorrow, he wrote.
The BRIC nations, which cover a quarter of the world’s landmass and contain 40% of its population, had a combined gross domestic product (GDP) of $20 trillion back in 2001.

Weekend Spotlight: Sting In The Tale Of Trade - Braving A Swarm Of Bees In The 'Nilgiris' With The 'Daredevil Irulas'
By M H AHSSAN | INNLIVE
This story was born when i am travelling in the nilgiris to discover the lifestyle of the 'Irula's tribe and their livelihood on 'bee-honey' trade. The most inspiring incidents make me to write and typo-graph the story with the pictures, incidents. Read on to make your interest.
I was crouching at the entrance of a bear’s cave at the foot of Kakulai Parai (cliff) in the Nilgiris, watching as one man swung precariously on a rope ladder, while another sang to the cliff he was descending. I had been working on a book of stories about love, ambiguity and consequence, and its underpinning motifs of sweetness, wildness, and greed had led me to only one logical conclusion: honey. For months, not knowing what the story I would eventually write would be, I had been conducting research into traditional honey gathering, learning along the way about modern beekeeping, the differences between bee species around the world and how bees keep ecosystems alive.

Meet Hardik Patel, Patidar Poster Boy, An Unplanned Man
By LIKHA VEER | INNLIVE
Nothing prepares you for the disappointment of meeting Hardik Patel, the 22-year-old leader of the Patidar reservation movement.
You go to meet him expecting an anti-reservation crusader, a fiery orator who plans to unite "27 crore" Patidars under his leadership and an ideologue keen to dismantle the existing caste-based quota system and replace it with a new idiom of social justice.

Satire: Music Director & Singer Himesh Reshammiya Demands 75% Reservation For 'Benaam Celebrities', Threatens To Sing More 'Nosy & Loudly' In Public Places
By RAHUL UPADHYAY | INNLIVE
On the second day of his three-day fast at Gateway of India, the leader of Other Benaam Celebrity (OBC) Himesh Reshammiya has reaffirmed his demand for 75% reservation in all bollywood movies on annual basis. He alleged, “Roles are being offered solely on the basis of contact and looks, leaving us nothing.”
He has threatened to sing loudly in public, if his demands are not accepted by the end of this three-day fast. Experts are considering this threat more severe than Hardik Patel’s agitation and anticipated sleepless nights and unproductive days.

By SWARNAM JOHN | INNLIVE
The traditional backdrop of Onam is quite intriguing. If you are new to all this stuff, then spare a moment to hear about this great festival. Onam is a Hindu festival celebrated with great pomp by the Keralites.
According to ancient records this festival marks the commemoration of Vishnu and the subsequent homecoming of the mythical King Mahabali, whom the Keralites consider as their king. Onam is considered to be a harvest festival, reminding of Kerala’s agrarian past.
