A Picky Eater Kid: A Symptom Of Psychological Disorder

Although parents generally see picky eating among children as just a phase, a new study says those with both moderate and severe selective eating may be at increased risk for depression and anxiety. More than 20 percent of children aged two to six are selective eaters, the study said.

"The children we are talking about are not just misbehaving kids who refuse to eat their broccoli," said lead author Nancy Zucker from Duke University School of Medicine in the US. "These are children whose eating has become so limited or selective that it's starting to cause problems," Zucker said.

Indian Students In Limbo At DY Patil’s Mauritius Campus!

Indian students at DY Patil Medical College's campus in Mauritius are staring at an uncertain future as the college's recognition is under question. Several students who sought admission to the first-year undergraduate programme were asked to cancel it and 100% of their fees were refunded early this month.

The ones who are studying there for the last two years were assured that they will be allowed to complete their degree. But with no approval, the students are worried that they will not be able to complete the mandatory 5,000 hours of practicals in hospitals, which they need to start right away.

Mysterious Disappearance Of Porn Sites From Internet Without Govt Ban: What Happened To Personal Liberty?

The mysterious disappearance of popular Internet porn websites in India over the last couple of days is similar to the white van abductions of people in Sri Lanka at the height of the island’s civil war — people inconvenient to the government went missing, while the government claimed it didn’t know a thing.

In India, what now greets surfers instead of these sites — that apparently had a cult following in the country — is white space. There is no message from the Internet Service Provider (ISP) that the sites have been blocked under orders from the government (as happens in countries where online porn is illegal).

Focus: Is The Govt's Attempt To Block Online Porn Futile?

The government's move to block more than 800 pornographic websites has led experts to question whether this latest attempt to police the internet is even feasible.

Internet service providers (ISPs) have confirmed they received letters from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Saturday that directed them to block certain websites. But can the government stop users from visiting porn sites? The answer seems to be no.
