By Newscop

The business of yoga is steadily growing and includes an over $10 billion industry in the United States alone. Yet, some fear that yoga has been forgotten in India where it is being replaced by damaging “foreign” habits, such as eating unhealthy food and remaining stationary at desk jobs for most of the day. That is why Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken it upon himself and his government to reclaim yoga from the yoga enthusiasts abroad, who are perceived to have co-opted the practice.

By M H Ahssan

INNLIVE speaks to a few unconventional fathers who have embraced fatherhood by rolling up their sleeves and taking on the added responsibility of also being a mother to their children.

Tarun Dev was a worried man. Days before his son Rohan had his first day at kindergarten, Tarun was certain the three-and-a-half-year-old would make a fuss about wearing the tie that was part of his uniform. So Tarun and Rohan's biological grandmom (who is also Tarun's house help) had a make-believe birthday celebration for Rohan: he was told that his uniform, complete with tie, was his birthday attire and that he had to wear it before he cut the cake.

By Ragini Gowda in Bangalore
Father’s Day in Bengaluru will be a little different this year. Though June 21 is characterised by sentimental greeting-card slogans and fuzzy wishes in most parts of the world, a vociferous debate between father’s rights groups and women’s advocates will give the day a somewhat harder edge in India’s Silicon Valley.

An annual protest by divorced men fighting for access to their children runs into a squall of protest after a press conference features a French diplomat accused of raping his daughter.

SPECIAL FEATURE: A woman fresh into motherhood was told by her midwife that along with the joys of motherhood comes the dreaded mother's guilt as a package deal. This kind of takes me back to my very first blog in which I thought it best to start with introducing myself in a nutshell.

It was hard condensing all that I am into a few short sentences. I relied on the assistance of the many labels that society has coined in a bid to help each of us find our place and neatly fit into the mosaic; God forbid one of us actually stands out.

A helpless father is depressed and become 'sad father' who is not able to pay fees to get admission for his brilliant son who secured 167th rank in IIT-JEE entrance examination, this year. Unable to ask anybody to provide help, he approached a hospital to sell his kidney to pay the one lakh fees for his son's admission.

Dharamraj Saroj of UP's Pratapgarh district is in a fix. Both his sons have cracked the IIT entrance test — one securing rank 167 and the other 410. Dharamraj, a daily-wage earner, desperately needs Rs 1 lakh for their admission fees. But that's an astronomical sum, for he barely makes ends meet.

Opinion: Why 2000 Crore Was Not Enough To Stop Mumbai From Shutting Down During Monsoon Rains?

By Sahil Amte in Mumbai
Just two days after they were inaugurated amid much hype, the two new pumping stations in Mumbai have failed to serve the purpose they were intended to. As Mumbai reels under severe water-logging following incessant, heavy rains, the new pumping stations have failed to provide relief from waterlogging in Central Mumbai.

Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the stations two days back. The municipal corporation of the city has spent over Rs 200 crores on these pumping stations. The Cleveland Bunder storm pumping station cost the BMC Rs 102 crores and the Love Grove pumping station was built with Rs 116 crore.
