Aamir Khan's habit of pedestalling any-damn-thing he acts in, acts as the chink in his perfect armour.
Back in 2008, when his Mr Perfectionist tag was yet-un-abused, Aamir Khan had said in an interview, “One of my favourite authors, Harry Crews, has said, what deserves to be done, deserves to be overdone!” (Uncut: Understanding the Minds of the Khans, Anshul Chaturvedi). Six years down the line, one can’t help but wonder: has this Khan overdone his perfectionism?
If one remembers right, even a decade back, Aamir wasn’t this hardcore a perfectionist as he’s turned out now. There were films like Raja Hindustani and Dil, which helped him gain a firm footing in the Hindi film industry, but that was Aamir minus the perfectionism.

Dare To Think: Are Our Leaders Above The Laws?
Reactions of the government and opposition alike to the criminally offensive remarks made by Union Minister Ms. Niranjan Jyoti reveal the flawed attitude of those who govern the nation. Ms. Jyoti in a speech violated Article 153 (A) of the Indian Penal Code and fomented hatred between different communities.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to the House to forget the issue because the Minister had apologized and he too had expressed regrets. He implicitly justified her by referring to her rural origins. Inadvertently he not only insulted rural India but betrayed his ignorance. In north India, certainly, city dwellers are much more prone to using expletives and abuse than village folk.

Straight Talk: India PM Modi Helpless Against Terror?
Increasingly people are beginning to grumble about the gap between Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promises and performance. People may tolerate the government’s inaction regarding corruption and reforms. But the government’s impotence displayed in Kashmir as cross border terrorism by Pakistan continues to cost soldiers’ lives is unacceptable.
The Prime Minister describes Pakistan’s actions as a shameful attack on Indian democracy. Home Minister Rajnath Singh says Pakistan is showing desperation. Is it not time Home Minister, that India display some desperation too?
All these statements by politicians while soldiers and civilians continue to die sound hollow and meaningless. What is the government doing to stop the rot? Does the government have any plan of action?

'Crorepati Godman' Rampal Doesn't Have 'Money' For Bail
Once a millionaire and now pauper, arrested godman Rampal was seen in a helpless condition when he failed to furnish a Rs.20,000-surety bond for his bail.
Though Rampal was granted bail in case number 427 (obstructing official business charges), nobody came forward to provide the surety bond.
A local court had on Monday remanded self-styled godman Rampal in three-day police custody in connection with the death of a woman follower during the recent stand-off between his disciples and police outside his ashram in Hisar.

Gautam & Diandra's Lip Lock Lands 'Bigg Boss 8' In Trouble
Salman Khan's show Bigg Boss 8 has landed in troubled water as an activist from Pune has written an application against Endemol, the makers of Bigg Boss for airing a particular moment from the house where two contestants- Diandra Soares and Gautam Gulati are shown locking lips.
Although the makers have edited the version and shown only the portion where Diandra comes closer to Gautam, they actually did kiss in the house and the activist has deemed it wrong. Keeping in mind that BB8 is a family show and is watched all over the nation by people of all ages, the activist feels that the makers should have been more stringent in showing such things on the show.

Prison Rehabilitation & Correctional Services Negligence: 'No 'Shrinks' for Condemned Souls'
There are no psychiatrists or psychologists to check the mental fitness of inmates lodged in 50 jails across the state, according to the Telangana prison administration.
To add insult to injury, this is what the deputy inspector general of prisons, M Chandrashekhar, had to say when asked about the number of mentally ill inmates –”We don’t have any such data. What is the use of keeping such data when several inmates are released and several others are sent to jails everyday?”

Begur Gram - Where The Seeds Of 'Bengaluru' Were Sown
Now absorbed into Bangalore’s bustling information technology district is the village of Begur. A stone inscription found here is the first historical mention of Bengaluru.
They may not find their names on tourist maps. They may have been erased on historic maps. Yet, crumbled stone walls and broken sculptures tell you a story, sometimes giving you clues to the very identity of a city.
