WISHING A 'HAPPY, PROSPEROUS NAVRATRI FESTIVITIES'

"Nava-ratri" literally means "nine nights." This festival is observed twice a year, once in the beginning of summer and again at the onset of winter. During Navaratri, we invoke the energy aspect of God in the form of the universal mother, commonly referred to as "Durga," which literally means the remover of miseries of life. She is also referred to as "Devi" (goddess) or "Shakti" (energy or power). It is this energy, which helps God to proceed with the work of creation, preservation and destruction. In other words, you can say that God is motionless, absolutely changeless, and the Divine Mother Durga, does everything. Truly speaking, our worship of Shakti re-confirms the scientific theory that energy is imperishable. It cannot be created or destroyed. It is always there.

By Anshu Patel / INN Live

Sachin Tendulkar's 200th Test match is most likely to be held at his home ground in Mumbai from November 14. The Eden Gardens in Kolkata is also a contender for hosting that historic match. The BCCI has not yet announced the venues for the two Tests against the West Indies.

Sachin Tendulkar has decided to call it quits. In a media statement released through the Board of Control for Cricket in India on Thursday afternoon, the 40-year-old Tendulkar said his 200th Test will be the last time he will be seen in India colours. This milestone match, against the West Indies, will most probably be held in Mumbai next month.

Is The United Andhra Agitation A Manufactured Rage?

By M H Ahssan / INN Live

The counter agitation for a united Andhra Pradesh pushes the state to the brink of anarchy. In the past couple of months, a previously unheard of movement has been gathering force in Andhra Pradesh. Telangana agitators rejoiced after the UPA government’s announcement that the region would be carved out of Andhra Pradesh as the 29th state of India. Soon, a largely apolitical counter movement for Samaikyandhra — a United AP — started gaining currency, in which employees of the government and private sectors started protesting the formation of a separate state.

AP Congress Leaders Face A Loaded Gun In Form Of GoM

By Ramesh Reddy / Hyderabad

The single biggest issue that the Group of Ministers on bifurcation of AP — packed with political leaders who know State affairs inside out — is expected to look at is the status of Hyderabad. What is clear from the reconstituted GoM, significantly changed from its original avatar, is that the UPA is counting on Union Ministers capable of bulldozing Congressmen on both sides of the divide.

This theory gains ground in the wake of specific information that Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had conveyed to Congress president Sonia Gandhi that he would not like to be “caught” between party leaders from the two sides on the status of Hyderabad.

Escape Velocity? Rahul May Contest From Telangana

By M H Ahssan / INN Live

After preaching about escape velocity to Dalits, Rahul Gandhi may well be practising it himself, in hard core political terms. Just like the BJP is contemplating the prospect of Narendra Modi contesting from Lucknow or Benaras, the prospect of the Congress vice president contesting from the Medak parliamentary constituency in prospective Telangana state as his second option is being considered.

Over 1000 UP Madarsas Getting Govt Funds Only On Paper

By Sufia Naaz / Lucknow

The Samajwadi Party (SP) government in Uttar Pradesh, which has pulled all stops for Muslim votes ahead of the general elections, is in for a huge embarrassment.

The state รข€™s Minority Welfare Department found that there were 1018 fake government-aided madrasas in the state. This means that not just teachers and computers meant for minority education did not exist, the institutions themselves only on paper.

Why Are The Minorities Opposing Separate Telangana?

By Ismail Hussain / Hyderabad

Minorities, particularly Muslims, have been opposing the division of Andhra Pradesh. They apprehend that the separate Telangana would jeopardize their interests and threaten their safety.

The psyche of average Telangana Hindu is believably anti- Muslim and no political outfit, including TRS is exempted from its anti- Muslim attitude. Many a time, Muslim leaders, almost a non-entity in TRS, felt that the party meted out a raw deal to them in different occasions.  This biased mind-set had its roots in the bitter memories of atrocious Razakars in Nizam’s State.
