Panasonic Launches Rugged Handheld Tablets And Semi-Rugged Toughbook For The Indian Market

Panasonic India has launched a series of rugged devices; two versions of the Toughpad tablet and it's semi-rugged Toughbook.

The Toughpad FZ-E1 and FZ-X1 are the Windows and Android variants of the tableet. The FZ-E1 packs a 2.3GHz Qualcomm MSM8974AB cuad-core processor, with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage, expandable up to 64GB, while the FZ-X1 has a 1.7GHz Qualcomm APQ8064T quad-core processor. The Toughpad has a 5" 1280x720p HD glove-enabled touch display, 8MP rear cam and 1.3MP front shooter. The device is 4G enabled and supports dual micro-SIM usage.

Most impressive, however, is that the Toughpad packs a beefy 6200mAh battery, boasting a 14-hour battery life, and is hot-swappable, meaning you can replace the battery with a spare while the phone is still running. it has been tested for MIL-STD-810G and IP65 and IP68, meaning the tablet is shock, vibration, dust, water, heat, and freeze resistant, and can withstand a drop from 10 feet and has covers for each port. the tablet also has various separate accessories like belt holsters, battery packs and shoulder straps. The FZ-E1 variant runs Windows 8.1 and is priced at Rs 1,19,000, while the FZ-X1 variant runs Android 4.2.2 and is priced at Rs 1,09,000. Meanwhile, the Toughbook CF-54 is a rugged form notebook PC, packing a 5th Generation Intel Core i5-5300U vProTM Processor (3 MB cache, 2.3 GHz up to 2.9 GHz), 8GB or 16Gb DDR3 RAM options, 500GB of storage and optional secodary drive add-on. It has a 14" full HD (1920x1080p) screen, backlit keyboard,  and 4200mAh battery with hot-swappable option. The Toughbook is priced at Rs 1,39,000. Full specs are available here.
