Kerala 'Police Chief' Caught 'Cheating' In University Exam

A senior IPS officer was allegedly caught cheating in LLM final examination in Kochi, Kerala. Inspector General of Police (Thrissur range) TJ Jose was asked to leave the examination hall after invigilators noticed he was copying from a text book.

Highly embarrassed state government has asked Additional DGP Shankar Reddy to probe the incident and submit a report immediately. The incident happened in St Paul’s College in Kalamasserry, on the outskirts of the port city.

Invigilators said they would inform the Mahathma Gandhi University to take appropriate action against him.

Jose denied the charge saying it was part of a conspiracy to defame him.

“Nobody asked me to leave the examination hall. And no material was seized from me,” he said.

Student unions have jumped onto the bandwagon seeking action against the senior cop. The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) and Kerala Students’ Union (KSU) have condemned the incident and sought a high-level probe.
