An FIR has been ordered to be registered against All India Majlis Ittehadul Muslimin (AIMIM) leader and MP Asaduddin Owaisi by a Delhi court on Wednesday for allegedly giving a hate speech in 2014.
A criminal case lodged against Owaisi, the MP representing Hyderabad was directed by the Metropolitan Magistrate Muneesh Garg to the Delhi Police under relevant provisions of the IPC on a private complaint.
Ajay Gautam who is a priest and social worker sought to lodge an FIR against Owaisi for his hate speech in June last year and the order was passed by the court. The complaint said that in an article in an online edition of a newspaper dated June 5, 2014 had Owaisi allegedly delivering a speech against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Ajay Gautam even stated that it was not the first time that Owaisi had delivered hate speeches which created terror and fear in the minds of community.
For the alleged offences promoting enmity among different groups on ground of criminal conspiracy, intentional insult and religion, the complainant sought lodging of FIR with intent to provoke with breach of peace under the IPC among other things.
