Interestingly, media reports claimed that Upen paid money to the makers of the show to ensure his comeback.
On Sunday afternoon, Upen shared a video on Instagram, thanking his fans for all the support they have extended till date and requesting them to start voting for him again as he is re-entering Bigg Boss.
However, the episode will only be aired on Monday. the channel will air Sansui COLORS Stardust Awards from 7:30pm onwards, which will overlap the airing time of Bigg Boss.
The British model-actor who had been a calm and composed person in the house for most part of his journey shocked viewers with his violent behaviour in the last week of his stay. He later claimed it was a result of concealing his feelings.
Upen was the lady charmer of Bigg Boss Season 8. Be it ex-contestants Soni Singh, Minissha Lamba, Natasa Stankovic, Deepshika and Diandra Soares or contestant Karishma Tanna, Upen was a favourite of all. And the one person he often stood for was his best friend on the show – Karishma Tanna. Upen cared deeply for Karishma and showcased this sentiment during multiple tasks. He even once jokingly said that he would love to marry her if her current relation failed!
However, he had a rather infamous showdown with Gautam Gulati inside the confession room where he even threatened to kill the TV actor. Following his outburst, Upen also had fallouts with his friends Ali and Dimpy who had supported him during his stay in the house.
While most of the contestants praised Upen for his grounded demeanour, he was often labelled ‘cursed’ as well -- because his friends inside the house failed to stay in the show. And if this was not enough, his attempts to stand up for his friends also earned him flak. He failed to see reason and would be unreasonable at times.
