Shocking News: Flipkart.com Is Selling 'Date Rape Drugs'!

“Spanish Fliege Liquid is applicable for adult females, without color and taste, the product is a transparent liquid, which can dissolve in all drinks without being aware of . A few minutes after taking the product, a female will have flush face, hurried and fiery breath, sultry glance and heated body, under this circumstance, any woman will become excited and sultry and have itch in vagina, numbness in inner thigh and increased vagina secretion, as well as thirst for making love with you. Volume- 5 ml. Cost Rs.680/- only”

This is what you could have easily located on the Flipkart website just minutes back of writing this article. Although there are various platforms running online which sell pleasure enhancing drugs, the "kind of language" used to describe it appears nothing less than deprecating, to say the least.

Just read once how Flipkart describes the date rape drug:"the product is a transparent liquid, which can dissolve in all drinks without being aware of ." It's nothing but highly irresponsible on part of the e-retailer.

However, as the news spread like forest fire on social media, the e-commerce company played shrewd as expected, and dropped the product from their kitty. So smart!

In order to procure this Spanish Fliege (Women Sex Stimulant) Pleasure Enhancement (5 ml Pack of 1), you just need to pocket out Rs. 680. Isn’t it cool? Not quite!

When the country is once again debating the sensitive issue of women safety after the recently reported rape of a 25-year old female financial analyst in Delhi, leading e-commerce companies are selling such drugs online in order to mint easy profits putting women safety in jeopardy.

Some questions which surface are:

1. Shouldn’t retailers (online and otherwise) be more prudent in the choice of  the products and their description?

2. Shouldn’t the government keep a tight noose over such malpractices?

We were still seeking response from the concerned people at Flipkart.com and the agency that looks after its PR, at the time of writing the report.
