Haq married to 29-year-old Honufa Akhter Rikta, who hails from Chandina in Comilla. The bride is a post-graduate in Law. The wedding,which took place in the district's Meerkhola Vilag, was attended by over 700 people from the minister’s side.
According to reports, Haque signed the Kabin Nama (marriage document) after paying Taka 5,00,001 as denmohor.
Grand arrangements were made for the marriage with several roundabouts in the village decorated with flowers. Hundreds of villagers were gathered at these roundabouts to welcome the groom.
Haq paid Taka 1,00,001 to his sisters-in-law for passing the gates to enter the bridal venue.
“My wife is from ordinary family and she a law graduate. She can start legal practice in future if she wants,” the minister said.
