PRESS RELEASE Suriya together with Complan celebrates 50 years of strengthening India New Television Commercial featuring Suriya endorses Complan’s new brand messaging - 'Mana Uruthikku Valimai Tharum Puthiya Complan'.
South Indian and Tamil cinema hero and heartthrob Suriya pleasantly surprised the media at a specially convened press conference, as Complan officially unveiled the acting superstar as its new brand ambassador for the south region market.
Celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year, Complan has signed Suriya as one of the three celebrity brand ambassadors to unveil its new packaging and branding. It is the first time that Complan has associated with iconic celebrities for endorsements.
Action star Suriya, who portrayed riveting roles in super hit films Singham and Ghajini, chose the exclusive Complan event to break his six-month self imposed hiatus from the spotlight, much to the delight of the assembled media. The heartthrob will also be seen in the television commercial for the new Complan, which focuses on “strength” as key benefits propostion.
The press conference began in a dramatic fashion with a specially made giant box of Complan being unveiled by Suriya, revealing the bright red and gold Complan box motif in its resplendent glory. Epitomising strength and endurance, Suriya demonstrated his might by engaging in an arm wrestling contest with a cute child.
Renowned for its health, and essential nutritients for children and adults, Complan, India’s favourite health drink, has been given a complete make-over to highlight its numerous health benefits. The new, strategic USP focuses on strength to help children have stronger bones and muscles.
Commenting on his association with Complan, Suriya says “Complan has been a household name for millions and endorsing it is a great opportunity for me to connect with the audience. I feel honored to be associated with one of India’s most trusted brands like Complan.”

In the TV commercial Suriya is pictured encouraging a child who aims to defeat the record of another child, who himself was a swimming champion.The central idea of the advertisement is built around the concept of Complan Gives Strength to your Determination to Succeed, ‘Manthil Uruthy Vendum!’ (You Need Determination) and how Complan Strength helps you to achieve this.
Explaining how the commercial’s concept relates to Complan’s broader messaging of ‘strength’, Abhishek Prasad – General Manager - Marketing, Heinz India Pvt Ltd says “Today’s children have to perform so many daily tasks, which require physical strength, from just carrying a heavy school bag to various sports activities. The TV commercial featuring Suriya, emphasizes on the concept of the ‘power of will’ and how Complan helps you in your endeavors by providing strength.
