Rs.2 Cr Spent Daily On Modi's Advert & Publicity Expenses

By Sakshi Patel | Ahmedabad

SHOCKING TRUTH Bharatiya Janta Party is using the advertisement tactics to woo the travelers of Delhi Metro. The posters and banners of Bjp's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi have been put up in Metro trains and stations for the same.

According to BJP sources, more than 6000 hoardings and posters of Modi are put up across the capital city. Notably, around 3500 posters are pasted inside the Metro.

According to media reports, the company which raises advertisements for Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has put up Modi's advertisements in at least 30 trains. The trains include 2 trains of Metro line 2, 5 trains of Metro line 3 & 4 each, 4 trains of line 5 and 6 trains of line 6.
The agenda behind the same is to encourage people to link their discussions in Metro to Modi.

For the first time ever, some political advertisements have been used inside Delhi Metro. On the other hand, DMRC is not in favor of using political advertisements inside the Metro.

According to DMRC, the advertisements are outsourced from a company and it depends on the agency which keeps the tender for the advertisement.

Though, Metro guidelines are against it but the agency has taken permission from the Election Commission to put up these advertisements in Delhi Metro till elections are over.

The agency argued that if Modi's posters and hoardings are put up in entire city then why not in Metro? According to sources, the advertisement agency also had a word with Congress for putting up their advertisements in Metro but Congress denied the proposal.

As per the sources within BJP, depending on the size and position of hoardings, the party is spending around Rs. 2 crore each day for outdoor advertising of the party and Narendra Modi.

The advertisements in Delhi Metro are permitted only for 21 days and the expenditure for the same is approximately Rs. 2.5 lakh everyday.

The expenditure of these advertisements is being taken care by the Central office of BJP. According to sources, one of the prominent party leaders said that advertising in Metro is important because people travelling through it are also a part of party's vote bank.
