Popularity extracts its price. Hasiba B. Amin is famous today and people are asking her questions. She likes that and answers them. But with questions come, attacks, sometimes personal.
The young face of Congress, Amin, who features in the Congress party's new campaign advertisements on TV, is in a spot.
After a slanderous campaign on social media against her, Goa NSUI president on Thursday responded by saying that she is "disgusted with the campaign against me".
She said this on her Twitter handle: "Disgusted with the campaign against me. Not a bit of it is true. Think of the girls in ur family before u falsely spoil the image of a girl!"
The Congress advertisement, Kattar Soch Nahi, Yuva Josh (Not fanaticism but youthfulness) is aimed at an image makeover for Rahul Gandhi with Amin featuring in its Hindi version.
According to reports, in February 2012, she asked for the expulsion of Goa NSUI vice-president Sunil Kawthankar, who had alleged that the drug mafia in the state enjoyed the patronage of some Congress ministers.
