By Venkatesh Prasad | Tirupati

Sensation was created in Tirupati RUIA hospital area after a stray dogs snatched the new born baby from the admitted mother. Seen eating body parts of a new-born baby outside the hospital premises. Irked over he incident, a group of youngsters along with others staged protest outside the hospital. The protesters demanded inquiry into the matter and strict action against those security officials of the hospital. It is yet to be confirmed whether the baby was alive when it was catched by the dog.

The incident took place outside RUIA Hospital whose staff and even the locals did not bother to stop the dog from mauling the baby. Locals said the baby was wrapped in a blue saree. However, no when could tell whether it was dead or alive when attacked by stray dog.
"We saw a stray dog eat up the baby wrapped in a blue saree. As the crowd standing near the hospital and on road-side watched the bay being mauled by the dog but no one bothered to stop the dog who ate up the entire body. Even after the incident, no one reported the matter to the police", said another eye-witness.

Some locals even clicked the photos of the incident. The police collected the footage of the incident. "The baby was a boy. It is clearly visible. Exact identification of the age cannot be done as there were no remains left," said police officer. He added that police have registered a case.

The hospital administration has denied knowledge any such incident.

Get rid of new-born on city streets, no one will stop you: Tirupathi streets are the best place to get rid of newly born babies. Here, the locals will not bother to ask you what you are dumping on the road. Worse is the role of the police and district administration where the officials will make tall claims initially and stop picking the phone later.

In the dreadful incident of an abandoned baby being eaten by stray canine, the officials of police and health department made tall claims of immediate action and probe into the matter, while nothing was done yet.

Police claimed that an immediate probe would be conducted into matter and RUIA Hospital authorities would be interrogated, seems to have forgotten the matter. The police had not taken any account of the incident till filing of this report. The police chief, who claimed to remain available on phone 24X7 for locals, did not pick up the phone even after repeated attempts. Chief Medical Officer (CMO), who also was supposed to question the hospital authorities, went to attend meeting in Hyderabad.

Talking to INN Live, additional CMO said that "though the matter is not associated with the health department, we could help the police if they want".
