Panic gripped the locals and police of Daryaganj area when a suspect FedEx parcel was delivered at a businessman's house. According to a reports, the bomb disposal and dog squads rushed to the spot. The report states, when the parcel was opened, it was found to contain a live snake.
Quoting police officer, the report said, the bomb disposal squad examined the box carefully for almost half an hour and confirmed that it did not contain bomb. They opened the box and found a one-and-a-half foot long snake inside it. The box was closed again and sent to Wildlife SOS in south Delhi's Defence Colony.
The drama began at around 5.30pm on wednesday when, 42-year-old businessman Mohammad Kamil's wife, Shama Parveen, called him to inform about a parcel wrapped with fluorescent yellow paper had been delivered by an unknown person.
She said that the parcel was left at a washerwoman's shop adjacent to Kamil's house, and the delivery boy had asked her to give it to Kamil.
The washerwoman later delivered the parcel to Shama. Kamil asked her to return the parcel immediately. When he came home he informed the police about the parcel.
