Politics is a dirty game. It basically involves one politician trying to pull the rug from under his rival's feet. And there are no rules to it.
This was evident on Sunday when Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Hyderabad. The Congress, in a bid to ensure that his rally did not get much space on social networking sites such as Twitter, launched a website "www.fekuexpress.com".
The opening page of the site shows Modi sitting on a railway engine a la Shah Rukh Khan from Chennai Express. The site's opening sentence read "Feku Bumper Dhamaka! Predict and win!"
The kicker in Hindi says, "When Feku opens his mouth on Sunday, he will again say something feku..." and invites people to guess which of his "earlier lies" he will repeat.
The award for guessing the most correct answers was two tickets to Chennai Express.
A second page titled "Feku Claims" gives a list of claims that Modi has made with rebuttals to each of them.
Take as an example Modi's claim that "Today People recognise Gujarat for its good governance." Under this claim is a rebuttal saying, "Actual Fact: More than 30 per cent of the population of the State of Gujarat lives in poverty, Even ten years after the Gujarat riots, people have been living in refugee camps."
Till Monday, the site had got about 12,000 page views and had been shared across Facebook and Twitter umpteen number of times.
Meanwhile, on Twitter, the hashtag #FekuExpress was trending with people reacting to the website and other things as well.
While many people did not appreciate the move, there were others who took it in good humour.
