INN News Desk

Mumbai flyers plan your schedule well and also keep alternatives ready as Mumbai bound flights will be facing delays for the bad weather in the coming days. Mumbai flights are now running late by 30 to 40 minutes on an average due to the bad weather. Last week few flights were cancelled and diverted to other cities too. Due to the heavy rains the landing and takeoff is becoming increasingly difficult for the flights.

Cumulonimbus clouds are dark, thunder bearing rain cloud which poses a great threat to the aircrafts. These are the clouds which the aircraft cannot penetrate. The pilot gets an alert on the weather screen when the aircraft is forthcoming cumulonimbus clouds. This is a signal that the aircraft has to keep away from them. Also the inconsistent visibility due to cloud cover deters smooth flight operations. The Metrological Department has seen these clouds and hence sent an alert to the airport authorities. The Mumbai airport authorities have cautioned against the delay and cancellation of the flights.
