CHIRANJEEVI'S HOUSE COMES UNDER CID SCANNER

By Narayana Purohit / Hyderabad

Is Chiranjeevi’s stock up or it declined at the Congress high command. While Chiranjeevi’s camp gave a projection that he was chiefly responsible for the victory of the Congress in Karnataka owing to his huge fan following, the party leadership in Delhi apparently did not like this. Surely, they nudged Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to set the actor right.
Exactly when the actor-turned-politico was gloating over the success of Karnataka and claiming at least a portion of the credit, his actor son Ram Charan Teja’s Aston Martin brushed with a minion — Maruti Alto — and his “security men” (Times of India says the security men or from Intelligence Security Wing of the State Government) roughed up two techies and the road rage incident has been hitting the headlines every day in TV channels and newspapers.

As if this is not enough, his close aide C Ramachanraiah pitted Chiranjeevi against all Congress contenders for the coveted job of the Chief Minister after 2014 elections, as if someone is offering power to the Congress on a golden platter. Sensing trouble, Chiranjeevi tried to do some damage control, but Kiran Reddy is astute.

Like he tamed APCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana with ACB raids on liquor shops and excise and the police departments, the Chief Minister wants to make Chiranjeevi mend his ways. He had the file pertaining to Chiranjeevi’s palatial residence in the upmarket Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad. There has been a controversy over the landholding and possession rights about 900 sq yards abutting his original plot. The Vigilance ad Enforcement department raised queries on the propriety and correctness of the occupation.

Though it was said that Chiranjeevi managed to have the knotty issue resolved, it is the Government that can make or break things. The Government is also looking into the controversial 200 sq. yd of land adjacent to Chiranjeevi Blood Bank on the arterial main road of Jubilee Hills.

What irks Chiranjeevi and makes several eyebrows raise is revival of these files and bringing them under the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) scanner.
