'Akshay is my inspiration' - Katrina Kaif

By M H Ahssan

Her hour-glass figure, drop-dead gorgeous looks and expressive face have brought her far. Katrina Kaif, the gorgeous Bollywood actress, seems to be having the time of her life. Her movies are doing wonders at the box office and and she is getting recognition everywhere. She's the only Indian actress who delivered six back-to-back hits in the recent past. I grabbed the opportunity to meet her and had a chat of lifetime with her. Here are the excerpts:
How does it feel to be voted as one of the sexiest Asian women?
Kat: It feels special. I feel blessed and happy about the overwhelming response, love and affection that entire industry and my fans are bestowing on me.

We overheard that Bollywood was always your dream destination. Was it?
Kat: Yes, it is very much true. You might find it hard to believe but I was actually smitten by the Bollywood industry bug and really wanted to make it big in the industry. Initially, I did face a couple of problems because of my accent, but once my date with stardom began, there has been no looking back since.

So, how is Bollywood treating you so far?
Kat: Amazing. I get to work with some of the superb directors, producers and actors. They have all have been really supportive and I always learn a lot from them.

What is the magic behind yours and Akshay's on screen chemistry?
Kat: I don't know; fortunately people have always loved us together. Maybe the rapport that we share is one big reason. I must admit that I've always been a huge fan of Akshay's. I love his dedication towards his work and the energy that he brings with him on the sets.

Yuvraaj didn't do any wonders at the BO. Do you think audience didn't like you and Salman together?
Kat: Maybe!

Are you into gadgets?
Kat: No, I'm not much into gadgets. I just use basic and simple gadgets like phone, notebook, digital camera and iPod.

We saw promos of your forthcoming film 'New York'. traielrs look nice. Can you spill some beans about it?
Kat: Ohh... I would love to tell you about it, but can't. Everyone knows how particular the Yash Raj banner is about promotion of their movies. All I can tell you is that 'New York' had been a very exciting experience for me. The entire starcast had a wonderful time during the shooting and the director Kabir Khan was an unexpected surprise for me. I am very optimistic that audiences will like it too.
