‍‍‍TRS Party Revamp Challenge From Oldies And Newcomers

The decision of TRS boss and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to go in for complete revamp of the party from the village to the state level has stirred up a debate on ‘UT and BT batches’.

The TRS organisational restructuring that has been planned for September is posing a major challenge to the leadership, particularly with regard to striking a balance between groups and leaders working since the party's inception in 2001 and those who defected from other parties.

The decision of TRS boss and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to go in for complete revamp of the party from the village to the state level has stirred up a debate on ‘UT and BT batches’ among party leaders and the cadre.

Party sources said that the party is being divided into UT batch (Udyama Telangana), comprising loyalists who have been in the party since 2001 and the BT batch (Bangaru Telangana) comprising those who joined after June 2014. Both groups are trying to push their followers into the proposed party committees in order to consolidate their own position.

The UT batch is reportedly upset that the BT batch has cornered all ministerial berths, Assembly seats and nominated posts after June 2014 and they are insisting that priority should be given to them in party posts. The political tussle is more in constituencies where MLAs from Congress and TDP joined TRS after the 2018 Assembly polls.

As many as 12 Congress MLAs and two from the TD joined in 2019 against the wishes of TRS leaders who were defeated in the Assembly polls. These MLAs want maximum representation to their followers in the party committees which is being strongly opposed by old-timers, who have already lost their significance following the entry of leaders from Congress and others.

TRS leaders who lost their importance to newcomers include former Speaker S. Madhusudhana Chary, and former ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Tummala Nageshwar Rao.
As there were no new committees in the party since 2018, the voices of dissent remained in mute mode. Now that the party leadership has announced complete rejig, such voices are surfacing across all districts. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Why ‍KCR Plans To Revive Much-Sought 'Federal Front' Plans?

Going by the size of the entourage and the ongoing churn in the opposition camp at the national level, it appears that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, during his visit to Delhi on 2nd September, may tie up the loose ends of his Federal Front formation.Officially speaking, KCR is going to Delhi to lay the foundation stone for the construction of TRS office building in Delhi. The Centre had allotted 1,200 sq yards of land for TRS office at Vasanth Vihar in Delhi.

In the recent TRS state committee meeting, the party leadership had decided to go ahead with the construction of an impressive party office in Delhi. KCR will lay the foundation stone in the presence of TRS MLAs, MLCs, MPs and members of the State Executive Committee. According to CMO, the Chief Minister will leave for Delhi on 1st September and return to Hyderabad on 3rd September.

At the national level, former Union minister and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee have initiated steps to unite 'anti -BJP forces' to fight with BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections. KCR perhaps thinks that the political atmosphere in the country is presently in favour of those whom he had previously  envisaged as part of his Federal Front: 'anti BJP' and 'anti Congress' forces. The image of BJP, notwithstanding the pull of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is fading. At the same time, the Congress, despite being a pan-India party, is not in a position to regain its lost ground by taking advantage of the present political situation.

KCR is of the considered view that time is ripe to meet some political leaders at the national level who are against BJP and Congress on this occasion. KCR is also thinking of inviting some leaders to the function, but the problem is that the Delhi government has been strictly implementing Covid protocol with regard to any functions. Since it is not possible for KCR to gather all the leaders, he is also considering separate meetings with some of them to discuss the political agenda.

Sharad Pawar and Mamata Banerjee are in favour of the Congress party and want to form a front with anti-BJP parties, including Congress. But they don't want this front to be headed by Sonia Gandhi. KCR wants his Federal Front to comprise forces that are against BJP and Congress.

As for TS, TRS cannot join hands with the Congress because the grand old party is the main opposition in the state. 'Anti-BJP' parties like DMK, Janata Dal (Secular) of HD Deve Gowda, RJD of Tejaswi Yadav (Bihar) are also thinking that without the Congress it would not be possible to form a front at the national level against BJP.  Those parties have no problem with the Congress in their state-level politics, unlike the TRS in Telangana. Even Communist parties are in favour of having Congress in any front that may be formed ultimately to fight the BJP.

Against this background, it remains to be seen which political leaders KCR would invite and how he would convince them to join his Federal Front at the national level. In fact, KCR has already discussed this issue with Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, Deve Gowda, Navin Patnaik, Hemanth Soren and others in the past.  They all are in favour of the Federal Front, though not minus Congress party.  In any case, KCR wants to be active in national politics ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Is Telangana CM KCR Focussing On National Politics?

Will TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao announce his decision to plunge into national politics on September 2? This is the topic which is being discussed in political circles. KCR will be visiting Delhi to lay the foundation stone for the new building of Telangana Bhavan in the national capital.

The entire Telangana cabinet, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and senior TRS leaders have been invited to attend the foundation stone laying function in Delhi. Sources said that the new party building would reflect the Telangana culture and traditions and the elevation will be similar to the Telangana Bhavan in Hyderabad.

Official sources said that the chief minister is planning to stay in New Delhi for two to three days and would try to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and some Union Ministers. The CM is keen to meet Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and explain the challenges faced in the utilisation of Krishna water after the Union government issued a gazette which accorded full powers to the Krishna and Godavari River Management Boards (KRMB and GRMB) in the management of the river waters.

Other issues which he may take up with other ministers relate to sanction of national highway projects and release of funds, approval of new airports, release of funds for the centrally-sponsored projects like AIIMS and railways.

The CM has asked the officials to prepare detailed reports to be submitted to the Union ministers. Efforts are on to get an appointment for one-on-one meeting with the PM, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

The possibility of informal meetings with some political party leaders is also not ruled out. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍New Norms With Self-Regulation For Fantasy And Online Gaming Industry in Telangana

Telangana was the first state to ban online and fantasy gaming alleging that it resorts to gambling.

The Telangana government is coming up with new rules for online and fantasy gaming which will encourage self-regulation and game development in the state, a senior state government official said.

Telangana was the first state to ban online and fantasy gaming alleging that it resorts to gambling.
Telangana principal secretary for industries and commerce and IT Jayesh Ranjan said that the present scenario around fantasy sports is "a bit muddied and complicated" at present but the state government is bringing new norms which will make the state a role model for other states.

"In Telangana also there has been push back in the past. I have taken this responsibility upon myself personally to get a very simple and industry-friendly piece of regulation in place of what already exists. I have consulted everyone who is involved in this domain,” he said.

"The draft regulation that we have prepared has been shared with everyone. I am preparing ground for this progressive piece of regulation to be introduced in our state," Ranjan said at a seminar organised by the Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports (FIFS).
He said that the regulation which exists in Telangana as of now was largely driven by the police department because they had certain apprehensions about the way online gaming happens.

"The new piece of regulation that we have drafted has been shared with the police department. They are involved in every process. Only after their complete satisfaction, we will take it to the next level- before our minister, law department cabinet, etc.

"It is a matter of time but I can assure you will see regulation from Telangana where not only self-regulation but development will also be encouraged. I am very confident that this will be a role model for other states as well," Ranjan said.

Indiatech CEO Rameesh Kailasam said that multiple court rulings have given adequate clarity and accorded legitimacy to online gaming formats including fantasy sports, however, in certain states such as Telangana, Assam, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Nagaland such online formats are not allowed if they involve any money.

Retired IAS officer and FSRA chairman Bimal Jhulka said that fantasy sports is a sunrise sector in India and it has already overtaken the US with 12 crore users and contributed Rs 3,000 crore to the exchequer.

He said that the fantasy sports sector has the potential to contribute Rs 13,500 crore to the exchequer by means of taxes, create 12,000 additional jobs, and attract Rs 10,000 crore in foreign direct investments.
Invest India director and CEO Deepak Bagla said that online gaming is expected to see a huge push once 5G services are rolled out in India. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍TRS Party Restructuring And Revival Worries Ministers, MLAs And Cadre In Telangana

The strong decision to revive the post of district unit president and committees by next month has raised a debate in ruling TRS party circles, leaving the ministers, MLAs and party cadre worried about their future.

Ministers and MLAs have established their political dominance in districts as there was no alternative power centre all these years. Divergent views are being expressed as to why Chandrashekar Rao has chosen to restore these organisational posts and committees all of a sudden when he himself had abolished them in 2018.

Chief Minister KCR announced his decision to restore organisational structure at the TRS state executive committee meeting at Telangana Bhavan recently. Sections in the party feel that the move is aimed to fashion a new leadership in the ruling party ahead of the 2023 Assembly polls.

Some other sections feel this is aimed at checking the personal sway of ministers and MLAs in districts, who are taking party posts and positions for granted and not allowing an alternative leadership to develop in their respective districts.

The CM felt the need to strengthen organizational structure in all districts after the exit of Etala Rajender from the government in May. After Rajendar quit the party and joined the BJP in June, there was no other strong leader for the TRS in Huzurabad constituency, who could match his strength and stature.

Party circles say that Rajendar crushed second-rung leaders and never allowed anyone to emerge as a threat. With this, TRS is forced to depend on leaders from other parties in Huzurabad, like Padi Kaushik Reddy from Congress, L. Ramana from the Telugu Desam and E. Peddi Reddy from the BJP, to take on Rajendar.

The constitution of new committees at this stage will give scope for emergence of new leaders in all districts and constituencies. They would have ample time to establish themselves as leaders in the run-up to the 2023 December assembly polls, which would take place after 27 months from now.

They say that, in future, if the party leadership does not re-allot tickets to non-performing ministers or sitting MLAs for the 2023 assembly polls or if some of them defect to other parties for any political reason, as Rajendar did, the new leadership can still keep the party in good form. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍‍How ‍Telangana Govt Illegally Laid Roads In Protected Forests?

The areas where roads were constructed without approval include the Kawal Tiger Reserve, spread across parts of erstwhile Adilabad district in Telangana.

The Telangana government has drawn flak for allegedly violating forest conservation laws by taking up road construction works in at least three reserve forest areas in the state. The road construction activities were taken up by the state government under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The issue came up for discussion at the 49th meeting of the Regional Empowered Committee (REC) under the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC). According to the minutes of the meeting, of the 24 proposed road development projects, nine have been completed in reserve forests without obtaining permissions.

This means that the Telangana government allegedly failed to obtain the requisite permission before going ahead with construction and also violated the forest conservation and wildlife protection laws in place. The online REC meeting, which was attended by around nine members including the Chairman and special invitees on August 17, said that out of the nine projects, four fell under the jurisdiction of the Kawal Tiger Reserve, while three fell under the Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary and two under the Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary.

The Kawal Tiger Reserve is spread across parts of erstwhile Adilabad district and hosts a wide range of wildlife, besides tigers. The Kinnerasani Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Bhadradri Kothagudem district while the Pakhal Wildlife Sanctuary is located in Warangal Rural district. The Kawal Tiger Reserve has significantly contributed to the steady rise in the tiger population in the state in recent years.

The REC termed the partial and full completion of these nine projects as "very serious" and directed the state Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to ensure that no other work be carried out, till an approval from the competent authority is obtained.

"After deliberation on each proposal, the committee noted that most of the road stretches have already been completed partially or fully by the User Agencies without prior approval of the competent authority, in violation of Forest Conservation Act, 1980. The committee considered such works in violation very seriously and directed the PCCF, Telangana to ensure no works will be carried out further till the approval from the competent authority is obtained," the minutes of the meeting stated.

The REC also said that such an action could warrant action, including a penalty. It has directed the Integrated Regional Office of the MoEF&CC in Hyderabad to write to the MoEF&CC’s central office in New Delhi, for further orders on how to proceed with the issue of violations.

The committee further said that as a large number of road proposals are falling in the above wildlife habitats, a comprehensive plan needs to be prepared by experts that can be implemented in a phased manner for betterment of wildlife and to avoid man-animal conflict.

The committee also asked the MoEF&CC office in Hyderabad to issue a letter to the state government, to direct its field officials to ensure that no work in violation of the Forest Conservation Act shall be undertaken. The committee decided to conduct a physical inspection of the site ahead of the next REC meeting. The REC also said that the state government shall submit a complete list of proposals under PMGSY, which fall in areas with wildlife. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Telangana ‍Private Schools Urge Govt Aid To Overcome Financial Distress

In Telangana, about 9,500 of the total 11,500 private schools are categorized as budget schools. These schools cater to about 33 lakh students. Almost 3500 schools already closed in this about a lakh of teachers lost jobs and upto 15 lakh students career gone in dark.

According to the Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA), about 3500 private budget schools are closed and about a lakh teachers from these schools have changed their professions to sustain their families.

While welcoming the Telangana government’s decision to reopen all educational institutions from September 1, managements of private budget schools in the state have sought monetary support in the form of unsecured loans to help them overcome the financial distress as a result of remaining shut for nearly 18 months.

According to the Telangana Recognised Schools Management Association (TRSMA), about 3500 private budget schools are closed and about a lakh teachers from these schools have changed their professions to sustain their families. In Telangana, about 9,500 of the total 11,500 private schools are categorized as budget schools. These schools cater to about 33 lakh students.

“After the Telangana government’s announcement that students would be promoted to the next class without mandatory attendance and assessment, nearly 75 percent of students have stopped attending classes.

About 50 percent of these schools could not conduct online classes. Many of the students are unreachable. Many have started going to work along with their parents for daily wages. As per our date, 3500 private budget schools in Telangana have been shut down,” Madhusudhan Sadula, general secretary of TRSMA and national vice-president of National Independent Schools Alliance (NISA) told #KhabarLive.

Speaking to #KhabarLive, Dr. Kulbhushan Sharma, national president of NISA pointed out that the grim situation has led to many school owners across the country ending their lives by suicide. He said about 30 crore people associated with education and allied sectors have been affected nationwide due to the shutdown of schools.

30-year-old Pradeep who ran a budget school in Telangana’s Jagtial district and a young couple, Subramaniam and Rohini, who ran a school in Andhra Pradesh’s Koilkuntla had died by suicide recently unable to deal with the financial constraints. “These are not suicides. These are institutional murders due to policy failures. In today’s scenario, it is not easy to run a budget school and we don’t need any more deaths,” said Sharma, demanding support from the government.

“Schools have remained shut for long. Over a lakh teachers have found other professions, and students are not interested in education. It is an education emergency,” added Madhusudhan.

TRSMA state president Yadagiri Shekhar Rao appealed to parents to send their children to schools without any concerns. “We are ready to open schools, duly following all Covid protocols. It is our responsibility. But we want the government to support schools with an unsecured loan of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25 lakh to stand on our feet,” he added.

According to TRSMA, these schools are mostly run from rented spaces. As they have been shut for 18 months without any operations, owners have not been able to pay rent, electricity charges, property taxes, and EMIs for loans availed for establishment and expansion.

The association has demanded the state government to extend the moratorium period for existing loans of all schools for one more year. Many school owners have availed loans from private financiers and are facing harassment as they are unable to repay them. “The Centre has now extended the support under the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) to traders too. This should be extended to schools too,” he said.

As the Telangana government is yet to issue guidelines for the reopening of private and public educational institutions, the managements have called for a comprehensive policy to allow operations of schools while containing the spread of Covid-19. NISA and TRSMA have sought an inquiry into the deaths of school owners and demanded an ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh to the families of the deceased. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍‍Why ‍'Political Bazaar' Getting 'Hot' In Telangana?

Telangana people are quite surprised upon heating up the political activities in the state for a by-election in Huzurabad to dominates the supremacy over one and other political parties poll-strategies and electioneering tactics.

As #KhabarLive analyzed the entire situation, reveal the political supermacy dominates the major political parties. Its still more than two years for Assembly elections in Telangana but the series of yatras, rallies and meetings by the political parties have created a poll-like atmosphere in the state.

A series of developments and hectic activity by all major political players has increased the political temperature in the state, where elections are due towards the end of 2023.

Opposition parties are vying with each other in targeting Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) for its failures even as Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao himself is leading the counter-attack from the ruling party by rolling out a slew of schemes.

With the by-election to the Huzurabad Assembly seat likely to be held soon, both the ruling and opposition parties are going all out to woo the voters. By announcing 'Dalit Bandhu' and an insurance scheme for weavers and by luring some top leaders of the Congress, BJP and TDP into its camp, the TRS is leaving no stone unturned to ensure a victory in Huzurabad.

The by-election has become a battle of prestige for the TRS as Eatala Rajender, who was dropped from the State Cabinet in May following allegations of land grabbing, will be contesting as the BJP candidate.

As Rajender had been winning the seat since 2009, the BJP is hoping to ride on his popularity in the constituency to deal a blow to the TRS ahead of the next Assembly polls. The leaders of the saffron party hope that a win in Huzurabad will boost its confidence to achieve the goal of coming to power in the country's youngest state.

The recent elevation of G. Kishan Reddy as an independent minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's cabinet has boosted the morale of the saffron party, which had set alarm bells ringing in the TRS camp by wresting the Dubbak Assembly seat and by putting up an impressive performance in the elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) last year.

While returning to his home state after his elevation, union minister for tourism and culture Kishan Reddy mounted a scathing attack on TRS by undertaking a Jana Ashirwada Yatra from August 19. He slammed KCR and his family, for what he called massive corruption and for pushing the state into a debt trap.

Kishan Reddy's three-day yatra covered 305 kilometres across eight Parliament segments and 17 Assembly constituencies including Huzurabad.

The BJP is looking to mount further pressure on the ruling party as its state chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar will be launching a 'Praja Sangrama Yatra' from August 24.

The party says the walkathon, to begin from Bhagyalakshmi Temple at Charminar, is aimed at making citizens aware of the 'corrupt and dictatorial' family rule of KCR.

Sanjay, who is also the MP from Karimnagar, said the main objective of his walkathon is to enthuse the people to protest against the TRS government as it has failed to justify the reasons for which the separate state was formed.

"We need to free Telangana Talli (mother Telangana) from this corrupt family regime which is not at all concerned with people's issues. We have to take the failures of the government to the people at every booth level and understand the people's concerns which would help during our manifesto preparation," he said.

During the yatra, the BJP leader also plans to receive representations from people about the unfulfilled promises of the TRS government and also the complaints about not receiving the benefits under various welfare schemes. The saffron party will forward these representations to the government.

The BJP's central leadership will be keenly following the walkathon, which is expected to set the tone for the Huzurabad bypoll and the next Assembly elections.

The success of Sanjay's yatra will be crucial for the party to bounce back after receiving a jolt in the recent by-election in Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency and the Legislative Council polls from the graduates' constituencies. The saffron party lost the lone Legislative Council seat it was holding and had a disastrous performance in Nagarjuna Sagar, where its candidate forfeited the deposit.

A rejuvenated Congress party has also stepped up its activities. With A. Revanth Reddy taking over as the president of the party's state unit last month, it has become aggressive in taking up various issues and targeting the TRS government over what it called its unfulfilled promises and failures.

During the last few days, Revanth Reddy led two major public meetings as part of its Dalita Girijana Atma Gaurava Dandora (Movement for SC/ST self-respect). Through this statewide campaign, the party is trying to woo Dalits and tribals by highlighting how the TRS government neglected them during the last seven years.

The Congress is upbeat over the huge public response it received at its meetings at Indravelli in Adilabad district and at Raviryala on the outskirts of Hyderabad. It is now planning to organise a third public meeting in Gajwel, the constituency represented by KCR.

The Congress, like the BJP, is also targeting KCR for announcing 'Dalit Bandhu' only to garner the votes of Dalits in the Huzurabad bypoll. "After the by-election, KCR will again forget Dalits. Why is he not implementing Dalit Bandhu across the state, why only in Huzurabad," asked Revanth Reddy.

The TPCC chief also recalled that KCR did not fulfil his promises of installing a 125-feet Ambedkar statue in Hyderabad, three acres of land to each landless Dalit family, KG to PG free education and a job to every household.
Buoyed by the huge public response to its meetings, the state Congress leadership has decided to invite party leader Rahul Gandhi to a series of public meetings in the run up to the 2023 Assembly elections.

Rahul Gandhi is likely to address a public meeting in Warangal next month as part of Dalita Girijana Atma Gaurava Dandora. The party is planning the meet as a massive show of strength before the Huzurabad bypoll.

The Congress party has started the groundwork for the next Assembly polls. Manickam Tagore, AICC in-charge of Telangana, held a review meeting with party leaders in Nagarkurnool parliamentary constituency on August 20 and directed all party leaders and those who unsuccessfully contested the 2018 and 2019 polls to start working in their respective constituencies by meeting the people.

"Talk to voters, spend time with them, list their problems and find out what they have to say about the unfulfilled promises of the TRS and BJP governments in the state and at the Centre respectively," he said.
Claiming that the political situation in the state is turning in favour of the Congress, Revanth Reddy said the party is certain to win at least 72 of the 119 constituencies in the elections to the Assembly whenever they are held.

The newly formed YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) led by Y S Sharmila has also launched its activities, adding to the political buzz in the state. The sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is undertaking a fast every week over the issue of unemployment. After calling on the families of unemployed people who committed suicide, she sits on a day-long fast every Tuesday. She is demanding that the government fulfil its promise of filling all vacancies in various departments and providing jobs to all.

Three days ago she also staged a protest in Mulugu district over the issue of podu lands or the lands tilled by tribals. She accused KCR of cheating tribals by not fulfilling his earlier promise to resolve the podu lands issue. She assured her party's support to tribals, demanding that the government give them ownership right of podu lands.

Amid the stepped up activity by the opposition parties, Chief Minister KCR visited Huzurabad constituency on August 16, launched his ambitious scheme 'Dalit Bandhu' and addressed a huge public meeting. The scheme was launched on a pilot basis in Huzurabad and he promised that all Dalit families in the state will receive benefits under the scheme. Every Dalit family will get a Rs 10 lakh grant under the scheme to start a business of its choice, he said. Hitting back at his political rivals, KCR asked why their governments in the states or at the Centre never thought of designing a scheme to empower Dalits.

The politics over Dalits in the state took an interesting turn this month when former IPS officer R. S. Praveen Kumar joined the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Kumar, who held the rank of Additional Director General of Police, took voluntary retirement last month. The officer urged Dalits to become rulers and not slaves. He joined the BSP at a massive public meeting at Nalgonda on August 8. On Dalit Bandhu, he said that the scheme was a constitutional right and not anybody's charity.

He told KCR that the money he was spending on the scheme was what weaker sections had earned by tilling the land. "If you have any love for Dalits, spend your money on them," he said. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Farmers Force To Sell Paddy For Lesser Rates Due To Lack Of Infra Forces In Telangana

‍The Telangana government's record paddy procurement for MSP (minimum support price) has failed to save farmers from incurring losses due to a glut-like situation in the market.

With no adequate infrastructure facilities available in the government procurement centres for purchasing, transportation and storage of paddy stocks, farmers are forced to sell their produce for prices lower than the MSP to private players.

The unseasonal rains during the procurement season every year are adding to the woes of farmers. Paddy is getting damaged in procurement centres due to lack of tarpaulins to protect stocks from rains. This apart, there is a shortage of gunny bags and hamalis for loading and unloading of stocks and trucks for transportation.

All these factors are forcing farmers to sell their produce to private traders for prices below MSP instead of taking the risks at government procurement centres for want of MSP.

In the recent rabi procurement, the state government procured a record-high of 90 lakh tonnes of paddy at the MSP out of estimated production of 1.35 crore tonnes.

Farmers had to sell 45 lakh tonnes to private traders and rice millers with no adequate facilities in the government procurement centres. The state government had planned to implement regulated farming two years ago to avoid excess sowing of any particular crop, especially paddy, but backtracked later fearing resistance from farmers.

Although the government urged farmers not to go for paddy this kharif to avoid glut-like situation in the market, resulting in crash of prices below MSP, it did not make much impact with paddy sown area witnessing higher levels as usual.

Official sources in agriculture department said, "The data gathered from all districts until August 18 shows that paddy was sown over an area of 39.40 lakh acres in the state this kharif against 44.62 lakh acres sown last kharif. With more than one month left for kharif to end, the crop sown area is expected to touch last year's level again. The government encouraged farmers to sow cotton instead. But cotton was sown in 50.24 lakh acres against 58.60 lakh acres last year."

The crop sown area of jowar, red gram, black gram, groundnut, castor, soybean and sugarcane have registered lower than targeted levels as farmers preferred paddy over them.

On the other hand, paddy farmers of old Adilabad district are in distress because of losses they are suffering with rice millers cutting substantial percentage on quintal of paddy supplied in name of wastage due to presence of husk and clay.

Farmers lament that millers are cutting as much as 15-20 kg weight per quintal. These incidents have been reported more in Mudhole and Nirmal areas.

As is, rice millers cut Rs 300-400 unofficially from the minimum statutory price (MSP) of Rs 1,880 per quintal announced the state government. The further cut in the name of husk or wastage is minimising whatever the little income farmers get.

The “cutting of weight” is, however, low if the farmer is influential or politically connected. Farmers allege officials are not lagging behind in exploiting them by collecting Rs 26 per gunny bag supplied to them for packing paddy.

It is a fact that many farmers have not got MSP of Rs 1,880 for grade-I and Rs1,850 for grade-II quality paddy announced by the state government.
Congress party Nirmal DCC president Ramarao Patel alleged some rice millers exploiting paddy farmers have the backing of local TRS leaders. “Officials concerned are hesitant to take action against these millers because of their affiliation with ruling party,” he charged.

Guddeti Krishnaiah of Penchikalpad in Kuntala mandal of Nirmal district stated that the rice miller who purchased his paddy cut 20 kg per quintal in the name of husk. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Covid Scare Still Looms On ‍Parents, Not In Favour Of Sending Children On Reopening Of Schools In Telangana

Though the Telangana government has decided to reopen all educational institutions from September 1, many parents are still not ready to send their children to schools.

Most of the parents, especially those of primary and secondary school students, are not willing to send their wards. They are not ready to take risks as the Covid-19 cases continue and vaccine for children is still not available.

The fear of their children contracting Covid may prompt the majority of parents not to send them for physical classes immediately but wait for a few weeks before making a decision.

The state government on Monday decided to reopen all educational institutions from KG to PG across the state from September 1. The decision was taken by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at a meeting with education minister P. Sabitha Indra Reddy and senior officials.

With the health department officials stating in their report that Covid situation in the state is under control, the chief minister announced that all educational institutions including Angandwadis will be reopened.

The officials of the education department told the meeting that due to continued closure of educational institutions, students, especially school children, have come under psychological stress and this may have an impact on their future.

Keeping this in mind and after studying all aspects and after taking views of all, the chief minister decided that all educational institutions should be reopened with precautionary measures.
Some states including Andhra Pradesh have already reopened schools. The neighbouring state reopened schools a week ago.

However, on the day when the Telangana government took the decision to reopen all educational institutions, four students of a government-run school in Andhra Pradesh's Krishna district tested positive for Covid-19 in the random sample testing conducted on Monday. Some students of government schools in Guntur and Prakasam districts had also tested positive for Covid after reopening schools in the state on August 16.

The decision of the Telangana government to open all educational institutions has come under criticism from parents. "Instead of opening all institutions in one go, the government should have announced this in phases. Schools above eighth standard should be reopened first and if everything goes fine, physical classes can be resumed for others," said P. Mohan Reddy, whose son is a student of fifth class in a private school in Hyderabad.

The parents recalled that lack of proper planning had led to closure of schools within a few days after reopening in February.

After a gap of nearly 11 months, educational institutions in the state had reopened in February this year. However, due to the surge in Covid-19 cases during the second wave, they were shut down on March 24.

The media reports about experts warning a possible third wave playing up in parents' minds. "The experts have not ruled out a third wave. There were also reports that children may be the worst affected in the third wave. In such a situation, how can we take risks," asked Syed Ashfaq, whose three children are in primary and secondary schools.
While parents agree that continued closure of schools is taking a toll on children's psychological health, they want to wait for some more time to see how the pandemic situation evolves before taking a decision.

"There is still no vaccine for children. If they are fully immunized, parents may be ready to send them but at this juncture not many are willing," said Ayesha Fatima, a teacher at a private school.
She pointed out that when schools had reopened for Class 7 and above in February, the attendance was only 25-30 per cent.

Lack of clarity about online classes has also landed parents in a dilemma. While announcing re-opening of all educational institutions, the government did not clarify if online classes will continue for those students whose parents are not ready to send them for physical classes.
Most of the parents are of the view that the government should continue online classes till the threat of the pandemic is completely eliminated. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍New Governor For Telangana Likely Yediyurappa To Take Charge Soon!

The most valid reports coming from Delhi sources are to be believed, Telangana is likely to get new Governor in a week or two in place of existing Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan.

According to these reports, Tamilisai, who has been holding additional responsibility of holding the gubernatorial post for Pondicherry, reportedly requested the Centre during her recent visit to New Delhi that she be relieved from Telangana.

Apparently, Tamilisai told the Centre that she would be more comfortable in Pondicherry, which is the neighbouring state of her native place Tamil Nadu.
The Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry, which is a state-cum-Union Territory, is more powerful than the Governor of any other state.

Right now, Tamilisai is spending more time in Pondicherry, where there is a coalition government comprising NR Congress and the BJP, is in place.
The Centre is looking for a full time Lt Governor for Pondicherry and Tamilisai is lobbying for the same.

Sources said the Centre has agreed to Tamilisai’s request and is likely to appoint her as full-time Lt Governor of Pondicherry by August end or September first week.

In that event, the Centre has to appoint a new Governor for Telangana.
According to sources, in all probability, the Centre might appoint former Karnataka chief minister B S Yediyurappa as the new Governor of Telangana.

Yediyurappa recently stepped down as the chief minister of Karnataka to make way for Basavaraj Bommai.

At the time of relinquishing the chief minister post, the BJP high command reportedly assured to give a respectable post to Yediyurappa.

“In all probability, he would be made the Governor of Telangana. Since it is a neighbouring state of Karnataka, Yediyurappa can still have a say in Karnataka politics, albeit indirectly,” sources said. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Why ‍Congress, TDP Start Wooing Smaller Parties In Telangana?

With the ruling parties in both the Telugu States well and truly entrenched, the main opposition parties are intensifying efforts to woo smaller units to form an alliance even as over two years remain before the next Assembly elections.

The Congress in Telangana and the Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh are trying to strike an alliance with like-minded parties in the two States and have started efforts in this direction.

These two parties believe that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy are losing public support and that if they can gather strength with the help of like-minded parties, they can take the fight to the camp of the ruling parties in the next Assembly elections.

On Wednesday, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A Revanth Reddy praised former IPS officer Praveen Kumar who joined the BSP recently, indicating that the Congress may be looking at the BSP as a potential ally.

In the 2018 Assembly elections, the Congress cobbled together the ‘Mahakutami’ (grand alliance), but failed to dethrone the TRS.
SC and ST communities are traditional Congress voters, but the party has in recent times lost their support.

The Dalit Bandhu scheme introduced by the TRS government may wean away SC voters from the Congress. Praveen Kumar joining the BSP will also have some affect on SC voters.

It may be recalled that in the 2014 Assembly elections, the BSP won two seats in Telangana, at a time that it had no strong or popular leader.

Praveen Kumar has some following in SC and ST communities and his joining the BSP will strengthen the party in Telangana.

If the Dalit vote is split between the TRS and BSP, it will be the Congress that will lose most.

Keeping this in view, the Congress is looking at an alliance with BSP. Any alliance with the BSP will definitely improve the prospects of Congress in some areas, said a senior Congress leader.

Meanwhile in Andhra Pradesh, the TDP has been trying to woo the Jana Sena-BJP alliance. It may be mentioned here that the TDP and parted ways with the BJP before the 2019 General Elections.
In the previous Assembly elections, the TDP fought alone and failed miserably in retaining power.

Political observers believe that the presence of the Jana Sena helped the YSR Congress Party win an additional 25 to 30 seats. In these seats, the votes polled in favour of the TDP and the Jana Sena were more than what the YSRCP candidate who ultimately won, polled.
AP present, the BJP and Jana Sena have an alliance in AP, but Jana Sena supremo Pawan Kalyan is reportedly not happy with the BJP.

Though the TDP is trying its best to revive its alliance with the BJP, the latter is not showing any interest because of its past experience.

Rebuffed by the BJP, the TDP would be happy having the Jana Sena as an ally. In fact, a TDP-Jana Sena combination will be stronger than the BJP-Jana Sena combination.
Even Jana Sena leaders express the same opinion.

As of now, the chances of a TDP-Jana Sena alliance in Andhra Pradesh and Congress-BSP alliance in Telangana appear to be bright.

The Communist parties have lost ground in both the Telugu States and are struggling against the ruling parties.

In Telangana, the Left parties may have an alliance with the Congress and with the TDP in Andhra Pradesh, provided the latter maintains a distance from the BJP.
The Communist parties had peen part of an alliance with the Jana Sena, but have broken their ties.

If TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu convinces the Left parties, they may agree to be part of the TDP-Jana Sena alliance in Andhra Pradesh. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍‍The Plight Of Street Hawkers, Foothpath-Sellers And Small Vendors In Hyderabad

The post-pandemic situation is becoming horrible in terms of rehabilitation and steps to make them atma-nirbhar went in vain due to many factors in Hyderabad.  The street vendors  footpath sellers and hawkers are financially suffering and no help provided to them.

For petty traders, who make a living by selling food items, vegetables, fruits, cheap cosmetic products and all and sundry on their push carts, life has turned topsy-turvy following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

These traders are yet to come to their normal lives or back to their regular earnings, even after 18 months of malady. Most of these push cart hawkers are settlers from other towns. Many left their families at their hometown and returned to the capital as their earnings dropped drastically.

Each cart which used to do an average business of Rs 2,000 each day before March 2020 is not even in a position to make around Rs 5,00 to Rs 600.

After the ease of the first lockdown, many lost employment and lot of migrants have not returned, as schools, colleges and offices are still operating from homes.

Vijay Pandit, a resident of Jharkhand, who has a fruit-juice push cart, near Music College, Ramkoti, said, “I have been doing business with this ‘bandi’ since 1993. This city has given me so much. Before the lockdown, I used to make around Rs 2,000 each day, now we don’t even make Rs 500. Almost one year we have been without business. I have four daughters and one son. I left them at our home town as it’s hard to take care of their expenses in the city as of now.”

Bhasker Rao, another push cart vendor, says, “We are in a bad situation, the lockdown pushed us into utter poverty. We believe in hard work and don’t expect any aid from anyone. We just hope things will be back to normal and we get back our business.”

Raju Yadhav, a pani puri vendor, says, “The business is very bad, two lockdowns made our business go down. Customers we used to have before the pandemic rarely visit us.”

It has been seven years since the Street Vendors Act (Protection of Livelihood) came into force, but the vendors in the city say that they are still awaiting the complete implementation of the Act.

Speaking to #KhabarLive, K Naipal Reddy, who runs a tiffin cart in LB Nagar said, “There has been no town-vending committee. Even if the officials conduct a meeting, we are only told where we should put the waste. There is no communication amongst the line departments. The police come and harass us. They give no regard to the fact that we have been given an ID card by the GHMC.  The police throw the card away and say that they do not have any knowledge of the town vending committee.”

There has been no end to harassment from various persons for street vendors. They rue that they have only been issued an ID card by the GHMC and not a street-vending certificate.

“Without the certificate, there is no way of establishing ourselves as street vendors. Every fortnight the police come to our cart and harass us. They usually ask things like, who gave you permission to sell here?” said Venkat Mohan, president, Telangana Street Vendors and Hawkers’ Union.

For those at the Secunderabad station road, vendors like James John said there was supposed to be a committee meeting with the GHMC commissioner. “There is no protection of the street-vendors. We have faced heavy loss due to the lockdown. We are still living under the fear of cops who can come and vacate us at a moment’s notice. Even the ID cards given to us are of no use,” he said.

Some even said that there had been instances when people would walk up to them posing as officials of the state government, and ask them for money.  “There have been instances when people would walk up to us, posing as police or any other official and ask us to move our carts,” said Venkat Mohan.

On the other hand, Hyderabad received ‘Creative City of Gastronomy’ award from UNESCO (United Nations Economic, Social and Cultural Organisation), in 2019 failed to stick to the vital parameter of keeping the importance of hawkers and their efforts in strengthening the urban economy.

The civic body, in its report submitted to the UNESCO, stated that apart from making creative food at affordable prices, the hawker community also added employment for two lakh individuals in the unorganised sector. It also said in the employment generation sector, the IT segment contributed four lakh jobs in the city, which is only restricted to one part of the city. However, apathy of policymakers in the GHMC has been depriving hawkers and vendors of availing PM SVANidhi (PM Street Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi), a micro credit scheme for street vendors.

Every year, the Centre promotes setting up vending zones in cities and sanctions funds for the same to municipalities. The GHMC is lagging behind in utilising those funds for promoting and improving street vendors’ business.

According to GHMC officials, a total of 34,878 street vendors in the city who were affected by the Covid-19 lockdown last year were given Rs 10,000 immediate relief by the civic body, the highest in the country. However, almost same number was affected during the current year's lockdown and the corporation authorities are yet to upload the data into PM SVANidhi.

This apart, non-regularisation of street vendors has left several thousands of them unable to reclaim their ‘vending zones’ after the footpath encroachment removal drive in 2018. A look at the Mission for the Elimination of Poverty in Municipal Areas (MEPMA) figures brings to light that there are 69,331 street vendors in Telangana of which more than 24,000 street vendors reside in the GHMC limits. These vendors were expected to do their businesses in the 750 free vending zones identified by respective urban local bodies, most of which are located at specific areas, defeating the purpose of wide scale inclusion.

There are only 300 restricted vending zones created while there are over 200 no vending-zones. The GHMC is yet to ascertain the exact number of vending zones, as per MEPMA data. On the contrary, the GHMC data suggests, till date, the municipal corporation has identified over 1.56 lakh street vendors in its limits and issued identity cards to nearly 1.44 lakh of them.

The GHMC may be leading in terms of issuing identity cards to street vendors, but the same spirit is missing when it comes to setting up vending zones for street vendors. However, the GHMC claimed that the demarcation of 138 vending zones were completed out of a total 152 identified, but could not shift the vendors to these zones till date.

According to the GHMC corporators, the corporation's enforcement displaced over 50,000 petty hawkers and vendors since 2018 when the civic body embarked on the footpath encroachment removal drive and by levying hefty fines to them which has been continuing till date. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍‍Is 'Third Wave' Of Covid Knocking On The Doors Of Telangana?

The harsh reality is the third wave is ready to knock the doors of Telangana State despite the end declaration of health officials.

The vigilant health machinery in the state seems busy to manipulate the numbers of Covid cases and instructing hospital staff to hide the actual details. And projecting the end of the second wave.

Though it cannot be said with certainty, a check at the ground level indicates that there is a mismatch between the official bulletin issued by the State Government and the situation in Gandhi Hospital and Telangana Institute of Medical Science (TIMS).

Officially the government claims that there are only 494 positive cases, but sources indicate that over 45 Covid cases are being reported every day in Gandhi Hospital.

As of now there are about 400 patients undergoing treatment. Similarly, in TIMS there are 65 patients and another 38 in King Koti hospital. The health bulletin also claims that there are only 76 positive cases in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits, but it is learnt that the private diagnostic centres have also reported an increase in positive cases.

Two villages Endapally and Maddutla, located in Velgatoor mandal have imposed certain restrictions on their own to prevent further spread of the virus. When asked about it, the Health authorities say that it is all in the hands of the people.

A third wave can be prevented or restricted if people strictly follow the health protocols. But it is not known if the Health department or the civic bodies were planning to take up any awareness campaign or not. People say that on one hand, the government had imposed restrictions on the number of participants in marriages and funerals but was doing nothing to control the number of people in public functions or even government meetings.

Many people are seen without masks but still no action is taken against them. They also alleged that neither the Health department nor the civic bodies had taken up any campaign on the need to use masks and follow social distancing. Not just that, there are reports in media and social media about the mutation of corona virus but no awareness on such issues is being created. #KhabarLive #hydnews

How To Get 'Lost Money' Online?

Earning money from the comfort of your couch is no longer a dream, thanks to the internet, but we all must be cautioned at the same time that all that glitters is not gold.

We have seen people who lose money via social engineering crimes  (a) KYC frauds (b) Customer care frauds (c) E-commerce frauds (d) Job frauds (e) Marriage frauds (f) Romance frauds etc.

We have seen another set of people subscribing to simple tasks for hefty sums of money, some of them have very simple tasks i.e.  (a) Watching lots of videos and pressing the “like” and “follow” buttons. (b) Editing a single A4 size document for over 50$ revenue (c) Investing peanuts on Crypto Currencies and earning millions (d) Subscribing to a lottery that has never been bought.

Many of the offers you see have nothing but empty promises, and even worse, some of these offers turn our desires into substantial monetary losses.

Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System
The Citizen Financial Cyber Fraud Reporting and Management System (CFCFRM) has been developed in-house by I4C to integrate Law Enforcement Agencies and Banks and Financial Intermediaries. It is currently being utilised along with Helpline no 155260 by seven States and Union Territories (Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh).

The facility empowers both the banks and the police, by leveraging new-age technologies for sharing online fraud-related information and taking action in almost real-time. The loss of defrauded money in online cheating cases can be stopped by chasing the money trail and stopping its further flow before it is taken out of the digital ecosystem by the fraudster.

Step by step process

Step 1 – Victims can call on Helpline no 155260, which is manned and operated by the respective State Cyber Crime Police officers.

Step 2 – The Cyber Police notes down the fraud transaction details (Account number, wallet, UPI, transaction ID, date, debit/credit card numbers etc) and other basic personal information of the caller and submits a Ticket on the portal.

Step 3 – The Ticket gets escalated to the concerned banks, wallets, merchants and so on, depending on whether they are the victim’s bank or the bank/wallet in which the defrauded money has gone.

Step 4 – An SMS is also sent to the victim with an acknowledgement number of the complaint with directions to submit complete details of the fraud on the portal within 24 hours, using the acknowledgement number.

Step 5 – The concerned bank, which can now see the ticket on its dashboard on the Reporting Portal, checks the details in its internal systems.

Step 6 – If the victim’s money is still available, the bank puts it on hold, i.e., the fraudster cannot withdraw the money. If the victim’s money has moved out to another bank, the Ticket gets escalated to the next subsequent bank to which the money has moved out. This process is repeated (Between 5 to 20 banks depending upon the severity) until the money is saved from reaching into the hands of the fraudsters.

Step 7 – Victim is given a petition number and requested to reach nearest police station to register it as an official First Information Report for further Process just in case the money is withdrawn from multiple banks accounts as prescribed by Citizen Financial Cyber Frauds Reporting and Management System hosted on National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.

Safety tips

- No bank sends links to update KYC

- Be wary of short URLs and information requested on SMS, Emails forms from unknown sources for verification of KYC or requesting to invest in Trade or Crypto Currencies, or saying you won a lottery

- Never send sensitive, personal or proprietary information via email, regardless of who is asking for it

- Never click on Links / Forms asking for personal information (Passwords & Bank Information)

- Never search for customer care numbers on Search Engines – Open the app or application’s website for customer care number

- Scanning QR Code or giving OTP, UPIN, BankCard and CVV numbers means you are transferring money from your account, NOT receiving

- Never do banking transactions while you are on telephonic conversations

- Never share your screen (Any Desk, Team Viewer Etc) with unknown people

- Enable two-factor authentication for all email and social media accounts

Victims who lose money online are advised to collect the petition from CFCFRM authorities and then go to the nearest police station for filing a First Information Report for further processing. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Why ‍‍‍Telangana Govt Digged Deep Into Pockets For 'Dalit Bandhu Scheme' Implementation?

In his public meeting speech, the aggressive Telangana Chief Minister KCR said that the opposition parties were feeling nervous ever since the government had announced the Dalit Bandhu scheme. They are making all kinds of demands asking the government to make clear who all will get it by when and so on.

"Why not, the Government will give a befitting reply to all their questions. The scheme has been devised after careful thought," he said. According to him, the government has so far released Rs 500 crore to launch the scheme and it would require another Rs 1,600 crore to cover all families in the Huzurabad Assembly constituency. But on the other hand, officials of the state Finance department said the government was struggling hard for the money and has no clue how to fulfil the financial needs in September and October.

The implementation of the new PRC to the government employees and extending Aasara pension scheme to 57-year-old had put additional burden of Rs 400 crore which needs to be disbursed in September in addition to Rs 1,600 crore for Dalit Bandhu in Huzurabad.

Another big challenge before the government is the implementation of the farm waiver loans up to Rs 50,000 from Monday. The farm waiver scheme alone requires Rs 2,000 crore.

The officials said that Telangana was already relying on borrowings from the financial institutions mainly RBI to overcome the fiscal crisis.
The government was borrowing at least Rs 2,000 crore every month to pay salaries, pensions and other revenue expenditure.

The Dalit Bandhu and other decisions like pension for old and farm loans etc would put an additional burden of Rs 1,000 crore per month

Telangana's borrowing limit is not more than Rs 40,000 crore. Rs 14,000 crore were already borrowed from RBI in the first quarter of the current financial year.

"Seeking more borrowings every month would also put heavy burden in the form of paying interests and principal amount," officials feel.

However, they add that the government was expecting a big jump in the revenues after the increase of market value of lands and the enhancement of stamp duty from September. The Finance department has asked the Stamps and Registration department to ensure Rs 1,000 crore revenue per month from the property registration to meet the financial requirement.

If the target is not achieved, the only option before the government is to increase the borrowings to Rs 3,000 crore from the RBI every month. "First big challenge is to provide Rs 1,600 crore for Dalit Bandhu in Huzurabad in a 60 days' time.

The identification of beneficiaries is almost completed as 21,000 families will get Rs 10 lakh each by September end," officials said. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍‍‍Why Historic 'City College' Building Lies In A State Of Neglect In Hyderabad?

#SaveHeritage slogan making waves in Hyderabad. In this regard, the iconic Indo-Saracenic style Government City College building, situated adjacent to the Telangana High Court in Hyderabad, lies in a state of neglect. Heritage conservationists allege that the repair work were sanctioned in 2017, but still no major part has been taken up. The historic structure remains the same.

The college was established in 1921 during the rule of the Nizam Osman Ali Khan Asaf Jah VII. It was constructed on the banks of Musi River. The century old building has remained in shambles for decades notwithstanding the fact that it was once listed as a Grade II-B building by the then Heritage Conservation Committee (HCC). Now, due to no restoration work and lack of funds, it is being neglected.

Mohammed Habeebuddin, a Heritage conservationist, said, "In 2017 restoration of the building was started but still the state of the structure remains the same. Its walls are crumbling and are covered with green algae. Most walls have developed cracks and would crumble if not repaired."

According to officials, the restoration work was sanctioned in a phased manner. The first phase was taken up with a sanctioned fund of Rs 1.8 crore by the government. The work was started after procuring the necessary raw material. Later, due to insufficient funds, it was stopped.

One can observe leakage from roof and pipelines which turned the outer walls moist and green with algae growth. "When the restoration work was sanctioned, temporary poles were also placed for at least two years, but nothing was done. Later, they were also removed," added Habeebuddin.
He said, "The repair work of a portion of the building's outer surface was done, remaining was stopped due to lack of funds. Now, one can observe the walls crumbling and the damaged plaster getting washed away. The government has to resume the restoration work as the earliest."

Mohammed Ahmed, vice-president TDP Minority Cell, said, "With no funding for building maintenance by the government. The historic structure and one of the oldest colleges in the city lies neglected. The TRS government is developing the city but neglecting the Old City. There are several such heritage structures including the City College, Chowmahalla Palace, Shalibanda Clock Tower, which are neglected and crumbling due to lack of repair and maintenance work," he added. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍Why ‍Telangana Govt Machinery Involved In KCR's Public Meeting In Huzurabad?

Is it an official or public meeting in Huzurabad by-elections. The public meeting addressed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to launch the Dalit Bandhu programme has kicked up an interesting debate in the political circles.

The TRS government mobilised all its official machinery to Huzurabad to make arrangements for the public meeting. Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar personally went to Huzurabad a day before by helicopter to oversee arrangements for the meeting along with the local officials.

District authorities gave written instructions to the local school headmasters and education department officials to mobilise crowds for the public meeting by arranging buses and other modes of transport.

The entire cabinet of KCR was asked to be present at the public meeting, where KCR announced the launch of the Dalit Bandhu programme.

All these arrangements could be understood, if it is an official meeting.
“But, why did the government allow TRS leaders like Padi Kaushik Reddy and TRS candidate for Huzurabad Gellu Srinivas Yadav were given seats on the dais along with CM and the ministers? In what capacity?” Congress spokesman Dasoju Sravan asked.

He sought to know if it was a political meeting of the TRS, why the chief secretary was present on the dais.

Sravan alleged that the Telangana police and even senior IAS officials have been acting as TRS members rather than public servants and threatening opposition leaders and people.

"Karimnagar Collector RV Karnan has displayed hoardings welcoming CM KCR with his name in pink colour during KCR's Huzurabad visit. How come a collector, who is expected to set high standards in public life, stoop so low?” the Congress leader asked. #KhabarLive #hydnews

What's Behind KTR's 'Silence Strategy' On Huzurabad Bypolls In Telangana?

The ruling TRS party's poll strategy goes beyond imagination. Always they do something new and tricky to confuse opposition. There is no doubt that TRS working president KT Rama Rao’s silence regarding the Huzurabad assembly by-election is creating ripples across the political spectrum.

KTR is usually politically very active, but has been surprisingly aloof over the Huzurabad by-poll, and this is creating a buzz.

Meanwhile, the TRS cadre is confident that KTR will participate in the campaign.

TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has handed over complete responsibility of Huzurabad by-election to Finance Minister T Harish Rao who is considered a “trouble-shooter”. KTR too has emerged as the trouble-shooter for the TRS during the last Assembly elections.

“KCR believes deploying two trouble-shooters for the Huzurabad Assembly by-election may be overkill,” say TRS sources. The sources add that KCR wants to avoid any confusion and favours campaign strategy being implemented from a single source.

“KCR believes that too many cooks spoil the broth,” said a senior TRS leader.

As of now, other Ministers from the erstwhile Karimnagar district – Gangula Kamalakar and Koppula Eswar – will help Harish Rao in implementing his election strategy.

“KCR has given a free hand to Harish Rao. The Chief Minister’s only goal is to win the Huzurabad by-election,” the senior TRS leader said.

It may be remembered that Harish Rao was once a close friend of present BJP leader Eatala Rajendar, who many believe will be named by the BJP as its candidate. TRS candidate Gellu Srinivasa Yadav was once considered a staunch supporter and a key leader in the Eatala camp, when the latter was in the TRS.

Both Harish Rao and Srinivasa Yadav are familiar with Eatala’s thought process and his political strategy.

It may have been for this reason that KCR reposed his trust in Harish Rao and Srinivasa Yadav to win Huzurabad, and his strategy appears to be working.

Already, Harish Rao has managed to rope in some important local leaders who were staunch followers of Eatala into the TRS fold. These local leaders had expressed support for Eatala when he was dismissed from the State Cabinet.

A senior TRS leader said if the responsibility of the Huzurabad Assembly by-election campaign was handed over to KTR, the party cadre and leaders would be focussed on the IT Minister. This would have made it difficult for Harish Rao to implement his strategies.

It may be remembered that when KCR contested from Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat, it was Harish Rao who played a key role in the campaign. At that time too, KTR maintained a stoic silence, and it was all part of the strategy, said a veteran TRS leader. #KhabarLive #hydnews

‍New Temples Built For Jagan ‍‍In Andhra Pradesh Termed As Height Of Sycophancy!

Political leaders go to any extent to be in the good books of their bosses so that they could get some good positions including cabinet berths or even the party ticket in the elections. Sycophancy is the hallmark of today’s politicians.

Biyyapu Madhusudhan Reddy, YSRC MLA from Srikalahasti assembly constituency in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

He has constructed a temple for Jagan Mohan Reddy to display his unflinching loyalty and reverence towards the chief minister.

The temple, which is nearing completion, is all set for consecration shortly. It resembles any other temple of a Hindu god and also has a lot of specialities.

Apart from the idol of Jagan in the sanctum sanctorum, there are different mandirs for each of the Navaratnalu (nine jewels) – the nine welfare schemes introduced by the Jagan government. There is also a hall of mirrors, reflecting the welfare rule of the chief minister.
Apparently, Madhusudhan Reddy wants to show his respect for Jagan, who had given him party ticket despite losing the seat in 2014.

Claiming himself to be an ardent devotee of Jagan on the lines of Hanuman for Lord Rama, he said he was displaying his devotion towards the chief minister.

“If you ask me whether I want my wife and children or Jagan Mohan Reddy, I will prefer the latter. If Shah Jahan had built Taj Mahal for his wife, I have constructed a temple for Jagan for the sake of the people,” he asserted.

Interestingly, another temple for Jagan is also coming up at Gopalapuram in West Godavari district. This temple is being constructed by local MLA Talari Venkat Rao adjacent to Jagananna Colony, where the poor are allotted house sites.

“I have decided to construct a temple for the chief minister, who has earned a special place in the hearts of the poor people by taking up several welfare schemes,” the MLA said. The temple, however, is yet to take off.

There are some blind “bhakths” as well, who take this sycophancy to newer heights by constructing even temples for their political bosses.
We have seen temples built for former chief minister of combined Andhra Pradesh Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy at several places like Rajagopalapuram in Visakahapatnam, Chennareddypalem in Nellore and another one in Kadapa district.

In Telangana, too, a temple was built for Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao at Rajendranagar in Hyderabad.

There was an attempt to build a temple even for Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu at Harischandrapuram village near Thullur in Amaravathi, but it did not materialise.

Now, even YSRC Congress party president and present Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has become a subject of personality cult.

Undoubtedly, Jagan has emerged as the most popular chief minister of the state by winning a record number of 151 MLAs in the last assembly elections and has become a cult figure for his party leaders.

Naturally, his party leaders have started deifying Jagan’s image to project him not just as a god’s gift to the people of Andhra but a god himself, with an obvious intention to get into his good books so that they would get some good positions. #KhabarLive #hydnews
